Korean Students Share Their Stories Of Being Sexually Assaulted
A post from a Korean forum asked the community if they’ve ever been sexually harassed, and the number of victims who stepped forward was unbelievable.

“I was harassed by my teacher when I was in elementary school… He touched my chest and kept hugging me…
But I was so stupid. I didn’t tell my mom because I thought I would get punished.
I don’t know why I didn’t stand up, but instead, I would continuously write that my teacher was a pervert on a piece of paper and throw it away.”

“I almost died when I was young… When I was in elementary school I was jump roping in front of our apartment complex when a neighboring oppa came to talk with me.
He said he was going home but took my jump rope. I followed after him demanding that he give it back. When he got in the elevator, I followed, and he put me on his lap.
He said he would give it back if I did aegyo. So I did it. At the time I didn’t know it was sexual harassment, but his hands kept going farther under my shirt.
He then got off on the rooftop floor and still refused to give it back. So I sat on the stairs that connect to the rooftop and cried. Then he suddenly grabbed me and started running towards the rooftop.
I was so scared because he wouldn’t let me go, so I bit him hard on the arm. He finally dropped me and ran back down the stairs. I hit my head hard when he dropped me, but I didn’t know it hurt so much because I was frightened.”

“Someone kept yelling ‘Hey’ from the back of our girls’ dorm, so I looked out the window and a naked man stood below my window.
When he saw me, he asked, ‘Hey do you want me to put it in you?'”

“When I was in elementary school, a middle school boy kept following me saying that he had something to say. I kept refusing him, but he wouldn’t relent so I followed him believing that he had something very important to say to me.
He led me to a public bathroom and touched my chest. So I immediately hit him with my umbrella and fled…
He really looked like the nice kind… I’m reminded of it everytime I walk down that street.”

“My older cousin… When I was young, I didn’t know any better so I let him touch me and rub his lips on me.
But thinking about it now, it’s terrifying. Every time I see him I get chills… He knows what he did but he pretends everything is fine…
I never told this to anyone.”

“I was on a crowded but the man next to me would constantly bump into me.
At first I thought it was just because it was crowded, so I simply moved to my left. But when he followed me, I knew something was wrong. The bus suddenly lurched forward and the man blatantly rubbed his front side against my butt.
I was so shocked that I couldn’t do anything, but everytime I think about it I want to vomit.”

“When I was in my 1st year of elementary school, I was walking home when a high school boy grabbed me and started touching my chest.
He showed me a drawing of a penis and asked if I wanted to see his. I made a fuss saying that I had to go to my piano lessons and he let me go… ㅠㅠㅠ
I ran home but I was alone and so scared…
I used to live with a male cousin in high school at the time and I would see the face of my attacker whenever I saw him ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ I’m just glad nothing worse happenedㅠㅠㅠ”

“I had it happen to me twice.
The first time, I was sitting at a bus stop listening to music when a guy sat next to me. He not just touched by breast but literally groped them. I was so disgusted ㅠㅠㅠ
The other time, I was sitting at the back of the bus when a man sat next to me. I didn’t think much of it but when I got up to leave, he touched my butt ㅠㅠㅠ
The first time, I yelled and screamed that I’ll call the police but the guy quickly got on a bus and left. And the second time there was no one else but the man near us so I couldn’t report anything… I never sit at the back of the bus anymore ㅠㅠ I’m still traumatized.”
