Lee Soo-Man made it to the list of Variety 500 influential leaders and icons
Lee Soo Man, the founder of S.M. Entertainment, was named as one of the most influential business leaders by ‘Variety 500’.
‘Variety 500’ is an index which highlights 500 most influential business leaders in the global entertainment industry and is updated annually.
The selections are carefully made by the Variety editorial board which conducts extensive research for its candidates.
‘Variety 500’ introduced Lee Soo Man in the category of ‘Overseas Overseers’, crediting him as an influential global businessman of K-Pop scene.
Lee Soo Man was introduced as a C.E.O who created the first ever Korean idol group H.O.T.
Of course, he’s also credited as the genius behind many successful groups that made K-pop go beyond Korea, creating the term Korean Wave.
Lee Soo Man was selected along with other great influential personalities such as J.K. Rowling, Tim Cook, Ellen Degeneres, Adele and Justin Bieber.
