RM Mentions “Boyfriends” When Asked About Love… Everyone Freaked Out
BTS has an important message about love, and fans are applauding them for their remarkable outlook on the subject.
Entertainment Tonight‘s Denny Directo had an interview session with BTS in Los Angeles as they rehearsed for their performance at the 2017 American Music Awards.
With the album title, ‘Love Yourself: Her’ in mind, Denny asked them about love, and they opened up about their private lives.
“When we don’t have a boyfriend or girlfriend, we always say, ‘Oh, I’m so lonely. I want a date,’ or something like that, but I think the biggest love we’re all searching for is the love for one’s self.
If you want to love others, I think you should love yourself first,”
— BTS’s RM
Fans are going wild about his word choice ‘boyfriend’, and how humble and insightful his comment was.
rm: whenever we don't have boyfriend girlfriend..

Fans are clearly very proud of RM’s inclusive comment, appreciating that love is just love, regardless of gender and sexuality.
The fact that Joonie said 'boyfriend' or 'girlfriend' just proves how he's open and very welcoming to every gender and sexuality. I am inlove with a woke king. I couldn’t have chosen a better man to spend the rest of my life with. #BTS #BTSARMY #NAMJOON #RM @BTS_twt pic.twitter.com/QSq0PMDovB

While the fans are cheering about the perception of love the BTS boys have, they also wonder if any specific members are open to dating both men and women.
In the interview with @DDirecto RM said something about 'True Love' and he said 'Even if we don't have a boyfriend or a girlfriend' and my question is, was he referring to everyone, including BTS? As in, not all the members are straight? Ik this is a reach but…

While cleverly redirecting questions when asked if they have time to date with their busy schedules, they also explained that there is more than one type of love.
“I think there’s a lot of different kinds of love, not just between a boyfriend and girlfriend, but love with your family, love with the people around you.
I think that’s really important, and I think would really be a good thing for the world, and make a better world for everybody.”
— BTS’s Suga
BTS will continue to spread love pride by performing “DNA” at the American Music Awards on November 19th.
“Dreams come true.”
