BTS rocks the house with epic live performances in Chicago for the “2015 BTS LIVE TRILOGY IN USA ‘Episode II. The Red Bullet’”
The Bangtan Boys made their way to the Rosemont Theatre in Chicago on July 25th as they took on their third official stop of their first U.S concert tour, the 2015 BTS Live Trilogy in USA ‘Episode II. The Red Bullet.’
Hours before the concert even began, hundreds of fans were already lined up the large theatre, curving over halfway around the building and decked out in their BTS shirts and jackets with their bias member’s names written across the back.
The organizers of the concerts continued to take the safety popular Korean male idol group seriously, and many police officers were seen at the venue making their rounds even through the concert and checking bags for potential weapons.
Five minutes before BTS took the stage, the fans began to chant the group’s name with fervor when finally, the theatre lights phased out and the show began promptly at 8pm EST.
A video began to play with a class in session taking place in a run-down building, a rather strict teacher set to discipline the rebellious students in his class, BTS members included. Fed up with the teacher, the seven members leave with their ‘bulletproof’ jackets in their hands before making their explosive entrance on the live stage.
The stage floods with red light as BTS begins their first performance of the night, “N.O.” Dressed in their uniforms, the boys go all out for their first performances as they show off their energetic performance filled with flips. They continue on with their second track of the night, “We Are Bulletproof Pt.2,” equally showcasing an impressive and creative choreography that had everyone wow-ed.
Having been to quite a handful of concerts myself (in the U.S), one element that very few Korean concerts miss is the artists’ inability to directly communicate with their fans without the use of a translator. While not a requirement as music transcends the language barrier, speaking to your fans without the delay of someone translating and relaying it back and forth is a HUGE plus and makes it much smoother.
The majority of BTS showed off their impressive English skills as they directly communicated with fans, introducing themselves with nearly perfect English and made their fans that much more comfortable during their sets.
After each members introducing themselves, the boys slowed it down with the tracks”We On” and “Hip-hop Lover.” BTS showed that they truly loved their fans as they teased the crowd throughout the show, showed off some heart-stopping aegyo, and more during the two and a half hour show where they performed almost 25 tracks.
The one thing that fans showed during this stop is that they are truly worth the name as BTS’ ARMYs.
