MAMAMOO’s Hwasa Method To Overcoming Hardships In Her Career Showcases Her True Work Ethic
MAMAMOO‘s Hwasa has always been a role model to netizens worldwide. Despite the cutthroat world of K-Pop, she has always ensured to stay true to herself, blocking out the haters and fulfilling her dreams the way she wants.
In an exclusive interview with Koreaboo during HallyuPopFest in London, Hwasa revealed how she overcomes obstacles in her career and any advice for people wanting to live out their dreams.
Throughout the years, it seems like Hwasa never stops and is always finding ways to showcase her diversity.
Whether releasing music with MAMAMOO or as a soloist, traveling the world as a fashionista or appearing on variety shows, Hwasa is always working towards bettering herself.
Although Hwasa might seem like a superhero, even she admitted that there are times when she has obstacles to overcome. Yet, rather than shying away from them or avoiding the issues, the idol revealed that her approach to difficulties is to try and tackle them head-on.
Whenever obstacles and difficulties come to me, I just try to plow on and go head straight into the problems themselves.

Hwasa then went one step further and showcased how dedicated she is to achieve her dreams, even if she might face difficulties. In particular, her approach proves just how hardworking and passionate she is about her career.
Even if I break my knees or I become ragged, it doesn’t matter. I will face them head straight first. Throughout this process, I feel like I become stronger, externally and internally. That’s how I try to better myself and overcome obstacles.

Although it might seem like just words, Hwasa has proved that she puts her body on the line in her work.
In 2020, after the release of her solo track “Maria,” Hwasa appeared on I Live Alone and revealed that she suffered a severe back injury due to her dedication to practicing.
She even revealed that before the injury, she was already suffering in pain as she added, “I already got diagnosed with a herniated disk. I couldn’t walk at all on that first day. I couldn’t move my body.”
Even with such severe injuries, Hwasa was adamant that she continue preparations for her solo comeback.
With so much dedication, Hwasa seems to be the perfect person to share advice on how to achieve your dreams.
Throughout the years, Hwasa has been vocal about her hardships on her journey to becoming an idol. During a concert, Hwasa told an emotional story about how she was told that, despite being talented, she was turned down being told: “You’re fat and not pretty.”
Despite the comments, she continued pursuing her dream and has found fame and popularity worldwide. For Hwasa, everyone goes through challenging moments, and achieving your dreams isn’t something exclusive to the lucky few.
