What's Next for WEi? This Rookie Group's Ambitious List of Role Models and Goals Show Their True Passions

Having debuted in October 2020, OUI Entertainment‘s six-membered group WEi is a little over two years old and so, for the time being, a rookie with a lot to accomplish. Following the release of “Love Pt.2 : Passion,” their latest mini-album—which the members got to promote to a live audience for the first time, WEi is now more ambitious than ever.

In an exclusive interview with Koreaboo, WEi shared their list of role models and goals for the future!

What are your goals? What do you hope to be known for?

Seokhwa: Since our first album to our most recent one, we’ve shown various concepts. I think finding our own unique color amongst these various concepts and making music that only WEi can do is one of our main goals.

Yohan: I think all members will agree on this, but our ultimate goal is to re-birth any song with WEi’s own unique color.

Who are your role models?

Yohan: I’ve always thought of BTS as one of my role models, as there is so much to learn from their concepts and performances. And since they are the main leaders of K-Pop, I look up to them a lot.

Seokhwa: In terms of vocals, EXO’s Baekhyun is my role model. (G)-IDLE’s Jeon Soyeon is also one of my role models, as I think her as a producer making a group’s own unique color is really cool.

Where would you like to perform in the future?

Seokhwa: If we have the chance to tour in the future again, I really want to do a domestic tour in Korea. I would love to visit the countries that we previously went to again, like Japan, Thailand, and the US, but also want to stop by countries like Indonesia that we’ve never been to.

Yohan: We did go on a world tour but since we didn’t have the chance to meet all of our fans, I would love to go to all of the countries we were not able to go to and meet more of our fans.

Passionate for music and ambitious to follow in the footsteps of their successful sunbae idols, it seems WEi will work hard to make their dreams come true! With RUi’s love and support, though, it won’t take too long before the members achieve their goals.
