10 K-Pop Idols Who Are Skilled In Art—Their Artworks Are Astoundingly Good

Two idols in this list are good friends and are part of the 97 liners.

K-Pop idols have been known to astound audiences with their talents and visuals during their performances. Some idols are passionate about their craft enough to get involved with the creative process behind their music and performances. And still some idols need more creative outlets to express themselves.

Here are ten highly creative idols who excel in art and express themselves through their other art forms and works.

1. Stray Kid’s Hyunjin

Hyunjin is skilled in drawing and painting, with watercolor, the most challenging painting medium, as his chosen means of expression. He also dabbles in oil paints and pastels and has set up his own studio where his artworks are stored. His artwork is so good that Hollywood actor Hugh Jackman praised him for being an “amazing artist.

2. Girl’s Day’s Yura

Yura is a Western Art major and likes to paint and draw landscapes.

She is also excellent with portraits, which are very difficult to do.

3. Red Velvet’s Seulgi

Seulgi’s artistry was highlighted in her recent debut as a solo artist. As part of her creative process for her solo album 28 Reasons, she worked in detail with the album’s direction, choosing songs, lyrics, and artwork. Seulgi excelled in drawing and painting portraits.

Seulgi recently worked on The Poster Book, a project for which she submitted ten oil pastel artworks, allowing her to work with writers.

4. AKMU’s Chanhyuk

Chanhyuk is a very creative artist, and this was never more evident than when he launched his first solo album and promoted his music on different TV shows. In the show I Live Alone, Chanhyuk showed a special place in his home, an upper floor where he stored all of his paintings.

He also guested in Red Velvet‘s Yeri’s show Yeri’s Room, where they both drew as they chatted. The show also gave a glimpse of Chanhyuk’s artworks.

5. SHINee’s Key

Key’s artwork has garnered attention for being very expressive and unconventional. He once had an exhibit of his artworks back in 2011.

6. SEVENTEEN’s The8

The8 (also known as Minghao) is a fantastic abstract painter who dreams of someday holding his solo exhibit. One of his most notable works is a heart-shaped rock that he used as inspiration for a painting.

Son Naeun liked going to art galleries and surprised everyone when it was revealed that she was also good at drawing and painting.

8. Monsta X’s Minhyuk

Minhyuk delights fans by sharing his artwork on Instagram or Fancafe. His art is very colorful and detailed.

He doesn’t stick to just the traditional canvas for his paintings; he also renders artwork on other surfaces, like a jacket, for example.

9. SEVENTEEN’s Mingyu

Mingyu also loves to draw and give his art pieces to friends. He’s a fantastic photographer who loves taking photos of SEVENTEEN’s other members. His paintings are beautiful splashes of colors and textures, showing his creativity.

10. BTS’s Jungkook

Jungkook’s creativity seems boundless. He’s an impressive photographer and videographer. He can draw and paint very well, learning painting techniques from watching videos of the famous nature painter Bob Ross. He shocked other BTS members with how well he could paint landscapes during one of their In The SOOP episodes.
