1. First K-pop artists to win a Billboard Music Award
BTS wasn’t the first K-Pop act to be nominated for this award, but they were the first one to go from nominee to winner. On May 21 2017 BTS beat out Selena Gomez and repeat winner Justin Bieber to win “Top Social Artist”.
2. First K-pop group to perform at a US awards show
BTS made history on November 20, 2017 when they became the first K-Pop group to perform at the American Music Awards. The moment their “DNA” began, BTS earned bragging rights as the first K-Pop group to perform on an American awards show.
3. Highest number of copies of a single album on the Gaon chart.
BTS broke this record in February 2018 with their fifth studio album, Love Yourself: Her. This album sold 1.6 million copies, the highest number of copies in the history of Gaon’s chart.
4. First K-Pop group to go gold.
BTS became the first K-Pop group to be certified gold by the RIAA when their “MIC Drop” remix moved more than 500,000 equivalent units between digital downloads and audio and video streaming.
5. Highest-ranking K-Pop album ever on the Billboard 200 chart
When Love Yourself: Her peaked at No. 7 in the Top 10 of the Billboard 200 chart, it became the US’s highest-ranking K-Pop album of all time. BTS smashed this record on in September 2017.
6. Highest-charting Billboard Hot 100 hit
BTS again made Billboard history, in October 2017. “DNA” earned became the highest-charting song for any K-Pop group on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at No. 67.
7. First K-Pop song to hit 50 million listens on Spotify
2017 could be called “The Year BTS Ruled the World” because, from start to finish, they did nothing but make history. In 2017, “Blood Sweat & Tears” hit 50 million streams on Spotify, making it the most listened to K-Pop song and the first K-Pop song to hit 50 million listens.
8. Fastest K-Pop group to hit 10 million YouTube views on a music video
This broken record is further proof that A.R.M.Y never sleeps. In October 2016, the “Blood Sweat & Tears” music video hit 10 million views in only 41 hours. On Valentine’s Day 2017, “Spring Day” beat this record by hitting 10 million views in nearly half the time: 26 hours! As if that wasn’t crazy enough, the “Not Today” broke this record a third time when it hit 20 million views in less than 72 hours.
9. Highest ranked K-pop track on the Spotify Global Viral 50 Chart
BTS became the first Korean act to appear on Spotify’s Global Top 50 Chart with “DNA”, in September 2017. This success came after scoring the highest-ranking song on the Spotify Global Viral 50 Chart (“Wings”, at No. 6).
10. Most Billboard 200 albums by any K-pop artist
Love Yourself: Her became the fifth BTS album to grace the Billboard 200 Chart. Previous Billboard 200-charting albums include You Never Walk Alone, Wings, The Most Beautiful Moment in Life: Young Forever, and The Most Beautiful Moment in Life, Pt. 2. Fans anticipate that BTS’s upcoming album Love Yourself: Tear will soon become the sixth album on the list!
11. Most Twitter engagements

As of September 2017, BTS officially holds the world record for most Twitter engagements and, more specifically, the most Twitter engagements for a music group. At the time of the Guinness World Records announcement, BTS had amassed an average of 252,200 retweets per tweet on Twitter.
BTS is now featured in The Guinness World Records 2018 edition.
12. Highest-ranking Korean solo artist on the Billboard 200 chart
In March 2018, J-Hope broke this record not once, but twice! He became the highest-ranking Korean solo artist on the Billboard 200 chart after Hope World entered at No. 63, with less than a day of sales. By March 17, Hope World had risen to No. 38 on the Billboard 200, breaking his previous record.
13. Fastest K-Pop group to hit 300 million views
BTS smashed records when the video for “DNA” hit 300 million views in March 2018. The video had been out for only five month, making it the fastest K-pop group video to ever hit this number. Soon after, the videos for “Fire” and “Dope” also reached 300 million views.

On May 15 2018, A.R.M.Y broke Twitter records by tweeting the hashtag #iVoteBTSBBMAs more than 40.8 million times. The previous record holder was the hashtag #ALDUBEBTAMANGPANAHON, which gained 40 million tweets.
