4 Times BLACKPINK Jennie’s “Jennie Effect” Was So Strong, She Sold Out Products Right Away
BLACKPINK‘s Jennie is a certified top influencer! Whenever she models for a brand, it gets sold out within minutes or hours. From sunglasses to chips, they all go through the same “Jennie Effect”. Check out some of them below!
1. LOTTE Confectionery – Air Baked
LOTTE Confectionery‘s new product, Air Baked, was released in June 2020. It was marketed as a guilt-free snack that is made in the oven and heated with hot air as opposed to being fried.
The brand hoped to target the 20’s-30’s demographic by picking Jennie as their main endorser. They reached this goal immediately as the product was sold out within two hours of its launch.
It has recently been revealed that LOTTE sold up to ₩2.5 billion KRW (around $2 million USD) worth of Air Baked within a month. This greatly exceeded their expectations as a product is already considered a hit with ₩1 billion KRW (around $828,000 USD) worth sold.
Besides the healthiness of the snack, BLACKPINK’s Jennie was attributed to helping the massive sales boost. The various advertisements she was featured in raked in 14 million views already.
2. GENTLE MONSTER – Jentle Home
Besides LOTTE Confectionery, Jennie is popular for helping brands sell out so long as she is their model. Her sunglasses collection with GENTLE MONSTER, Jentle Home, was repeatedly sold out and restocked as soon as it was launched in April.
The website also crashed less than a minute after the products were released, showing how excited BLINKs were for her collaboration.
It was definitely a successful launch!
3. Hera – Spicy Nude Balm/Black Foundation
Besides snacks and clothes, Jennie is also the face of HERA makeup. When images of her modelling the Spicy Nude Balm collection were released, fans just had to get a hold of them.
Unfortunately for some, it was sold out alongside the other shade variants.
Hera’s Black Foundation also went out of stock after it was launched in April 2019. It had sales of 100,000 units in one month, worth up to $5.3 million USD.
4. Danha Seoul – Hanbok
Finally, fashion designer Danha gained massive popularity after her hanboks were worn by Jennie and Rosé in the “How You Like That” music video.
She mentioned in an interview with DKDKTV that Jennie’s exact hanbok is currently sold out online.
Jennie’s effect is amazing. I love you!
