5 Female K-Pop Idols With Bizarre Casting Stories
While many K-Pop idols get accepted into companies through auditions, there are also plenty who were cast differently. Some may have been cast while they were out enjoying activities, while others were pursued specifically by a company. Here are a few female K-Pop idols with bizarre casting stories.
1. Ryujin (ITZY)
Ryujin was cast in a peculiar place, as she was cast when she was attending a GOT7 concert.
The casting manager also approached Ryujin at an awkward place, as she asked for Ryujin’s phone number in front of a bathroom. While Ryujin was suspicious at first, she decided to give her phone number because she thought that the casting manager was cute.
2. Suzy (Former member of Miss A)
When Suzy was auditioning for Superstar K, she decided to have a quick bathroom break. This is when a JYP Entertainment casting manager approached her. The casting manager asked Suzy to sing on the spot, which eventually led to her becoming a trainee at the company.
3. Sana (TWICE)
Sana was discovered by JYP Entertainment scouts when she was out shopping with her friends. While Sana was a little hesitant at the thought of auditioning for the company, she was convinced once the casting manager showed her pictures of the Dream High cast.
4. BoA
When BoA was 11 years old, she accompanied her brother to one of his auditions. There were some SM Entertainment scouts present, and BoA had caught their attention. The SM Entertainment scouting managers soon offered BoA a contract at the company, and the rest is history.
5. Tzuyu (TWICE)
In 2012, Tzuyu had uploaded a video on YouTube showing off her dancing skills. The JYP Entertainment casting team eventually found this video, and an associate flew to Taiwan to see Tzuyu in person. Once the JYP Entertainment associate arrived in Taiwan, he recorded Tzuyu’s dancing and sent it to the company. The casting team was once again impressed and told the associate to offer Tzuyu a contract immediately.
