Jaejoong faced immense criticism from both Korean and Japanese netizens for his “joke”, and it even resulted in a lot of his activities getting canceled due to the backlash he was receiving.
2. Kangnam saying that he would “hit” Kyungri
Kangnam faced some criticism from netizens after he made some jokes about hitting Kyungri. During an interview, Kyungri teased Kangnam about his accent, which caused Kangnam to ask the staff members if he could hit her.

This isn’t some street market or something” when a truck selling fruits drove by him. Many netizens were furious at Kang Sung Hoon for making this belittling remark.
In 2020, Kang Sung Hoon faced criticism from netizens once again when he joked about this past controversy. On his Instagram account, he posted a photo with a caption that stated, “Don’t misunderstand. I’m in Sangam-dong“.
After receiving massive backlash, Kang Sung Hoon released an apology.

4. Lovelyz Mijoo’s inappropriate joke to a male student
During an episode of MIJOOPIKCHU, Mijoo was conversing with a male college student, and she soon found out that he had a girlfriend. After finding this out, Mijoo asked, “You have a girlfriend? How far did you go with her? How long have you guys been dating?”. The male college student then told Mijoo that they had been dating for around 200 days, and Mijoo responded with, “You guys must have gone all the way then, that’s for sure.” When the male college student told Mijoo that they had only kissed so far, Mijoo commented, “Don’t lie. Aren’t you a man?”
While this was occurring, the production team decided to join in on the joke, and commented, “Where are you looking at? Mijoo’s gaze is…”.
Mijoo and the production team of the show faced massive backlash from netizens for their jokes. This caused the video to be turned private, and Mijoo released an apology for her actions.
