It’s the end of the year, which means it’s the season of year-end award shows like the Mnet Asian Music Awards, also known as MAMA. Throughout the years, the members of BTS consistently amaze the world with legendary performances. From their first appearance at MAMA 2014 to J-Hope‘s stage at MAMA 2022, check out all of BTS’s most iconic moments in chronological order below!
1. Dance Off Vs. Block B (MAMA 2014)
The dance battle, rap battle, and collab stage of BTS and Block B got everyone’s blood pumping — and the moment Jimin ripped his shirt off cemented an epic moment in MAMA history!
2. Run (MAMA 2015)
BTS’s second performance at MAMA left fans with a memorable stage featuring their brand new single “Run” and colorful array of leather jackets used for the iconic point choreography of the dance.
3. J-Hope and Jimin Stage (MAMA 2016)
J-Hope and Jimin performed a “Boy Meets Evil” remix featuring “Lie” while Jimin was blindfolded, flawlessly mimicking each other’s dance moves — and that was only the intro! It was followed by legendary performances of “Blood, Sweat, & Tears” and “FIRE.”
4. Cypher Pt. 4 and Mic Drop (MAMA 2017)
The group performed a solid track list featuring “Not Today” and “DNA,” but it’s their explosive performances of “Cypher Pt.4” and “Mic Drop” that showed the true meaning of BTS and left fans worldwide gagged.
5. Intro Performance (MAMA 2018)
We can’t forget their super cool intro performance that faded into “Airplane Pt. 2” and a collection of other songs including “Idol.” Plus, they brought us to tears with their emotional daesang speech.
6. Throwback (MAMA 2019)
BTS went down memory lane and left us shook with their stage “Map of the Soul: Journey to Myself” including throwbacks like “N.O.” and “We Are Bulletproof Pt. 2.”
7. ON (MAMA 2020)
BTS took us through every emotion of the pandemic: “ON” showed their fighting spirit, “Dynamite” showed their lingering positivity, and “Life Goes On” helped us all cope.
8. J-Hope’s Stage (MAMA 2022)
J-Hope attended as a solo artist and lit up the stage with same fire he brought to Lollapalooza earlier that year. He left fans worldwide in awe of his charismatic stage presence with “MORE,” “Arson,” and “Future.”
