BTS’s J-Hope, EXO’s Baekhyun & SEVENTEEN’s Vernon Wore The Same Jacket But Served Completely Different Vibes
BTS‘s J-Hope, EXO‘s Baekhyun, and SEVENTEEN‘s Vernon are all fashion icons in their own right, and they all have distinct personal styles. In fact, those styles are so distinct that even when their outfit choices overlap, they still serve completely different vibes. Just take this jacket they all wore, for example.
The jacket in question is from Louis Vuitton‘s Spring-Summer 2020 collection. Retailing for a staggering $4,500 USD, this statement piece is constructed from five layers of multicolored tulle designed to resemble a loose denim jacket.
J-Hope wore the multicolor tulle denim jacket in the music video for BTS’s Japanese hit “Stay Gold” back in June 2020. He paired it with long denim shorts and transparent Dior boots ($650 USD) with white socks underneath.
Fans have dubbed the colorful and bright 80s-inspired fashion J-Hope often wears as “hobicore”. In turn, this retro-esque “Stay Gold” outfit could definitely be described as “pastel hobicore”, filled all the original aesthetic’s happy, rainbow energy.
Baekhyun, on the other hand, wore this Louis Vuitton jacket in May 2020 for the Mint version of his recent album, Delight. Alongside it, he wore Louis Vuitton bleached denim jeans in a lilac-toned hue.
While Baekhyun’s outfit is just as colorful as J-Hope’s, his vibe is completely different. Rather than giving off youthful, happy-go-lucky vibes, Baekhyun looks calmer and more mature with an edge of street style.
Last but not least, there’s Vernon. In July 2020, he wore the jacket for a MonoTube Magazine photoshoot. His outfit is somewhat similar to J-Hope’s, pairing the jacket with shorts and white socks—though Vernon’s $2,220 USD gardening shorts match the jacket itself.
However, there’s still something distinctly different about their looks. Vernon’s buttoned-up outfit gives off more of a boy-next-door look. Instead of giving off an energetic vibe, his style here feels chill, laid-back, and effortless.
Fun fact—this isn’t the first time these boy group stars have been seen with overlapping styles. Baekhyun and J-Hope both wore this United States flag hoodie, for example, in 2014.
