5 More Of BTS Jungkook’s Tattoos And What They Might Mean
BTS‘s Jungkook has over a dozen tattoos that span from his right shoulder to his fingers. Over the past few years, fans have collected photos of these tattoos and researched their meanings. Here are five more recently spotted tattoos to add to the list!
1. The tiger
Jungkook added a tiger to his forearm, just below the crook of his elbow. This particular tiger has special ties to Korean culture.
Jungkook’s tattoo is modeled off of a tiger that is shaped like the Korean peninsula. Korea was once home to a large tiger population and known as the “Land of Tigers.” Tigers are revered, beloved animals that play prominent roles in Korean mythology and art.
2. Treble clef
Jungkook added a treble clef next to his “rather be dead than cool” and “may hay while the sun shines” tattoos. This G-clef is a musical symbol seen on musical staves and commonly depicted in art. On a piano, for example, the treble clef marks higher notes, starting from E. Although Jungkook has a flexible vocal range, he most often sings higher notes for BTS’s songs.
Jungkook’s treble clef appears opposite of another newer tattoo: the microphone. Both are perfect choices for a world-famous singer!
3. The storm cloud
Jungkook doesn’t shy away from bold, black ink! This tattoo of a storm cloud with lightning bolts could represent a number of things, including adversity, unexpected change, or strength. It could also be a purely aesthetic choice.
Jungkook mentioned his interest in clouds during a live broadcast…
…and he has drawn them in his art.
4. The clock
Jungkook is believed to have added a clock tattoo to his forearm sometimes after his solo song “My Time” was released in 2020. The clock might represent his song and its themes. In “My Time,” Jungkook sings about growing up in the spotlight and trying to find the time he belongs in.
5. XCVII
During 2021 Muster Sowoozoo, fans got a look at some of Jungkook’s previously unseen tattoos, including an ox pictured with “XCVII.”
The ox represents Jungkook’s birth year, the “Year of the Ox,” while “XCVII” is 1997 in Roman numerals. Fellow ’97 liner GOT7‘s BamBam also has “XCVII.” Yugyeom has both an ox and “XCVII,” like Jungkook.
