Here Are Some Of The Difficulties The EXO Members Endured As Trainees...And It'll Have EXO-Ls Crying

While the EXO members are currently enjoying massive success, their journey getting to this point wasn’t an easy one.

A YouTube channel by the name of “Dowithlove EXO” compiled a list of moments when the EXO members spoke of their trainee days. Here’s just a couple of tough moments the members talked about.

1. Lay

Lay is a member that has been quite vocal about his trainee days. During an episode of Idol Producer, Lay talked about how the journey to debuting is extremely difficult.

When Lay was a trainee, he would see trainees getting eliminated all the time. It was as if he was in a survival show with no cameras.

Lay also spoke to the Idol Producer trainees on how free time is essentially not a thing once you debut.

This is why Lay emphasizes how it’s important to practice as a trainee, as artists just may not have much time to practice after debuting.

On another occasion, Lay told the story of how he called his mother about having doubts about his debut.

Lay remembers how his mother started crying after hearing his words, which motivated him to work even harder.

2. Baekhyun

Baekhyun was a trainee for less than a year, so he had a lot to learn when he became a trainee.

3. Chen

Similar to Baekhyun, Chen was also a trainee for less than a year. Due to his short training time, Chen made it his mission to learn as much as he could from his fellow EXO members.

4. D.O

When D.O first became a trainee, he was extremely uncomfortable with his dancing skills. He had to practice nonstop to catch up with the other members.
