Here’s Where All 8 Of Gugudan’s Former Members Are Now
Even though gugudan debuted with a lot of promise, especially considering they had two former I.O.I members — Sejong and Mina — they ended up having a far too-short time together before their two-year hiatus that ended in disbandment on December 31, 2020. Despite their short career, the group still had a lasting impact on the K-Pop industry, and those who were fans of the group might be curious to learn where the former members are now. Here’s what we know about where all eight of gugudan’s members have ended up!
1. Hana
Before Hana made her debut with gugudan, she had already made a cameo in the K-Drama High School King of Savvy, which hinted at her future career. After she debuted with the group in 2016, she also made another appearance in the drama Children of the 20th Century in 2017, and the following year, she participated in the soundtrack for My First Love with the song “Fluttering Forecast”.

During gugudan’s two-year-long hiatus, Hana received her first leading roles in the shows My Fuxxxxx Romance and Another Peaceful Day of Second-Hand Items, both in 2020. After the group’s disbandment, she officially left Jellyfish Entertainment on April 30, 2021, and proceeded to sign a contract with FN Entertainment to pursue her acting career and has since gone by her birth name, Shin Bo Ra. She’s also very active on her Instagram account, and has a YouTube channel as well!
2. Mimi
Mimi is one of the former members of gugudan who has kept a relatively low profile since her departure from the group. She did make an acting debut in 2018 in the web drama I Picked Up a Celebrity on the Street, and also appeared in the 2019 K-Drama Extraordinary You, but since she announced her contract expiring with Jellyfish Entertainment in March of 2021, it doesn’t sound like she has pursued an acting career.

Like Hana, though, she is also active on Instagram, and posts videos on her own personal YouTube account!
3. Haebin
As the former main vocalist of gugudan, it shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone that Haebin has continued her passion for singing in new ways after leaving the group! In mid-2021 it was revealed that she had been enlisted by the company I’m From Vocal Academy as a vocal coach, where she has been leading training lessons for those who wish to pursue their own careers as singers.

She once stated that she had a dream to be known as “Queen of OST”, and in the last couple of years, she has released several solo singles and OSTs for various dramas. As with the previous two former members, Haebin keeps up with friends and former fans alike through her social media accounts on Instagram and YouTube!
4. Nayoung
During Nayoung’s time with gugudan, she was part of both the group’s sub-unit SEMINA as well as the project group Sunny Girls, which consisted of former GFRIEND member Eunha, Cosmic Girls‘ (WJSN’s) Cheng Xiao, MOMOLAND‘s Nancy, and OH MY GIRL‘s YooA. Despite her participation in these groups, however, when she announced her departure from Jellyfish Entertainment in April 2021, she didn’t appear to be pursuing a longer career as a singer.

In fact, just a few days ago on January 3 this year, Nayeon signed a contract with Goodman Story Entertainment, where she will be promoting as an actress! She also has a relatively active Instagram account as well.
5. Sejeong
During her time with gugudan, Sejong was the first member to make her solo debut, releasing the single “Flower Road” in November 2016. During her time with the group, she participated in other solo releases, collaborations, and OSTs, and also had acting roles in dramas such as School 2017 and The Uncanny Encounter. She has had various projects with well-known idols such as ASTRO‘s Eunwoo and NCT‘s Doyoung, all of which happened during her time with gugudan! As the runner-up on Produce 101, it makes sense why she was given so many opportunities.

When gugudan disbanded, Sejeong was one of the few members who renewed her contract with Jellyfish Entertainment as a solo artist and actress. She released her first self-written and composed solo EP since the group’s disbandment, I’m, on March 29, 2021, and also starred in the musical drama Red Book, which received a 9.9 out of 10 rating from viewers.

Sejeong is arguably the most actively promoting former member of gugudan, posting regularly on her personal Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, and Weibo accounts. She even has over 3 million followers on Instagram!
6. Sally
Sally is another member of gugudan who seems to have remained with Jellyfish Entertainment after the group’s disbandment, though she also ended up signing with the Chinese label Hot Idol Entertainment as well after she participated on the Chinese survival show Produce Camp 2020 and ranked 6th at the finale, earning her a part in the group BonBon Girls 303. The group debuted on August 11, 2020, and she will remain with them for two years while the group is active.

Sally is also expected to make an appearance in the 2022 drama Give You My Heart, and her last comeback with BonBon Girls 303 was in April 2021. She keeps fans updated on her life through her Weibo and Instagram accounts!
7. Soyee
Soyee has been the quietest former member of gugudan since the group’s disbandment. She announced her contract expiring with Jellyfish Entertainment along with fellow former member Mimi on March 31, 2021, and since then, it doesn’t appear that she has returned to the entertainment industry.

8. Mina
Mina ended up placing ninth during her time on Produce 101, earning her a place in I.O.I and setting her off to a great start in the Korean entertainment industry. She made her acting debut while she was still with gugudan in 2017 in Children of the 20th Century, and has since gone on to star in other dramas, most notably Dokgo Rewind (2018), Hotel Del Luna (2019) and Summer Guys (2021).
