Here’s How Much Money You’d Make If You Worked At SM, JYP, or YG

These are the average salaries of the “Big 3.”

It is no secret that SM Entertainment, YG Entertainment, and JYP Entertainment are considered the top 3 agencies when it comes to K-Pop artists. But have you ever wondered how much these global brands pay their employees? Well, wonder no more because a recent report released by the Data Analysis Retrieval and Transfer System has revealed how much each company from the “Big 3” pays their employees on average!

 

1. SM Entertainment

SM Entertainment paid the highest salaries to their employees with male employees averaging 40.6 million KRW (approx. $37,952 USD) and female employees averaging 33.7 million KRW (approx. $31,502 USD).

 

Executives at SM Entertainment also received the highest average salary out of the “Big 3,” receiving an average salary of 246.2 million KRW (approx. $228,966 USD)

JYP Entertainment

Although JYP Entertainment did not pay as much as SM Entertainment, it had the smallest gender pay gap out of the “Big 3.” Male employees at JYP Entertainment averaged a salary of 39.5 million KRW (approx. $36,735 USD), while female employees earned 35.5 million KRW (approx. $33,015 USD).

 

The average executive salary at JYP Entertainment was 225.8 million KRW (approx. $209,994 USD), which was also 2nd out of the “Big 3.”

YG Entertainment

Despite having the most employees working for their company, YG Entertainment paid the least, on average. Male employees averaged a salary of 39 million KRW (approx. $36,270 USD), while female employees averaged 30 million KRW (approx. $27,900 USD).

 

Executives at YG Entertainment also received the lowest salary out of the “Big 3” as well, with an average of 168.8 million KRW (approx. $157,794 USD).
