K-Drama “Extraordinary Attorney Woo” Inspires K-Pop Idols’ New Favorite TikTok Trend

“Cha to the Eun to the Woo!”

TikTok has become increasingly popular in the music industry, especially K-Pop, as it is utilized to promote comebacks via dance challenge trends.

Yet, many idols also like to have fun on the video-sharing app, participating in other popular trends. And many fans love it since it can be very relatable.

Most recently, the “Jiggle Jiggle” TikTok challenge was the one in which over 20 of the hottest K-Pop idols participated!

“Jiggle Jiggle” is a single by British-American journalist and documentary maker Louis Theroux. The song was originally created based on a rap trend that Theroux participated in on the show Weird Weekends, and it was popularized after he rapped it on Amelia Dimoldenberg‘s interview series Chicken Shop Date. The sound is produced by Manchester-based DJ duo Duke & Jones.

As with almost any TikTok audio trend, it must originate from somewhere. So, like “Jiggle Jiggle” it came from a TV show of sorts. Likewise, the newest TikTok obsession among idols is a trend that originates from not just any TV series but the latest hit K-Drama.

Extraordinary Attorney Woo is currently on air as ENA‘s first K-Drama, and it has the industry shook as the drama’s first episode had a 0.9% rating and has grown by 10x in only three weeks (The drama releases two episodes per week). It’s already in talks for a U.S. remake, although you can watch Extraordinary Attorney Woo on Netflix internationally. Viewers have fallen in love with the brilliant attorney on the Autism Spectrum, the show’s heartwarming storylines, and its charming cast, including Park Eun Bin, Kang Tae Oh, and Kang Ki Young.

About an autistic 27-year-old lawyer. Due to her high IQ of 164, impressive memory, and creative thought process, the brilliant Woo Young Woo graduated at the top of her class from a prestigious law school.

They always uniquely greet each other whenever they meet by saying their names in a rhythm and doing a hand gesture before dabbing.
