Why K-Drama Viewers Dropped These “Disappointing” Series In December

It’s not always the actors’ fault.

Despite the hype that was generated for these newly released K-Dramas, they didn’t live up to everyone’s expectations—with some viewers dropping the show before reaching the end.

1. Sweet Home 2

Although Sweet Home 3 has already been filmed and is slated for release, viewers weren’t satisfied with the plot of Sweet Home 2.

The series introduced too many new plot points and characters to keep viewers engaged and emotionally connected.

2. A Good Day to Be a Dog

For the romantic fantasy starring ASTRO‘s Cha Eunwoo and Park Gyu Young, the drama’s plot wasn’t the main source of viewers’ disappointment.

Releasing one episode a week hurt viewers’ impression of the show, especially when there was a hiatus for two weeks.

3. My Man is Cupid

Viewers were excited to see Doona! actor Jang Dong Yoon move on to the romantic mystery series My Man is Cupid with Nana until the plot fell short.

The drama’s execution of the common past-life trope didn’t go well, especially when combining the genres of romantic comedy and murder mystery.

4. Welcome to Samdalri

Like the last K-Drama, viewers were excited to see the chemistry between Ji Chang Wook and Shin Hye Sun in this rom-com about childhood friends reconnecting in the present and continuing their unfinished romance.

But viewers were very vocal about the show’s poor writing, inconsistent characters, and outdated style.

They weren’t a fan of the repetitive storyline within the episodes and the addition of a mystery plotline.
