All Of Kim Soo Hyun’s Leaked Messages To Underage Kim Sae Ron: A Timeline

Kim Sae Ron‘s bereaved family has alleged that actor Kim Soo Hyun dated the late actress for six years, beginning when she was a minor. To support their claims, the family has presented messages Kim Soo Hyun allegedly sent to Kim Sae Ron when she was underage.
1. “Do It For Real Later” (June 2016)
On March 27, Bu Ji Seok, the legal representative for Kim Sae Ron’s family, held a press conference in Seocho-gu, Seoul. Here he revealed text messages Kim Soo Hyun sent to Kim Sae Ron in June 2016, a month before her 16th birthday. At the time, Kim Soo Hyun was 28. In one set of messages, Kim Soo Hyun told Kim Sae Ron he would “Do it for real later,” after he’d texted her the equivalent of a virtual kiss.
KSR: “I’m going back to filming. I’ll be back soon.”
KSH: “Come back soon, hehe. [heart emoticon].”
KSR: “[heart emoticon] *kissing sound*”
KSH: “Do it for real later hehe. Ah, is this not allowed too?”
KSR: “Nah, it isn’t. I’ll do it.”
2. “Do I Miss You Or Not?” (June 2016)
In the next part of the conversation, Kim Sae Ron asked Kim Soo Hyun if he missed her. He playfully replied, “You? What do you think – do I miss you or not?”
KSR: “Do you miss me or not?”
KSH: “You? What do you think – do I miss you or not?”
KSR: “How would I know! If you don’t tell me, I don’t know.”
KSH: “Cute of you to ask that.”
KSR: “So do you miss me or not?”
3. “When Can I Hold You And Fall Asleep?” (June 2016)
In another message, Kim Soo Hyun tried to initiate physical contact with Kim Sae Ron. He told her he “wouldn’t know even if” she kissed him while he was asleep, then asked her when he would be able to fall asleep while holding her.
KSR: “You’ never wake up.”
KSH: “Yeah, I wouldn’t know, even if you kissed me.”
KSR: “So you wouldn’t notice even if I did it a few times. Yay.”
KSH: “When can I hold you and fall asleep? I think I’d be able to sleep really well then.”
KSR: “Yeah, I’ll let you do that.”
4. Kim Soo Hyun Asking Kim Sae Ron For Intimacy (June 2016)
Following the above exchange, Kim Soo Hyun asked 15-year-old Kim Sae Ron how long it would take for her to be physically intimate with him. In reply, she wrote, “I’ll do it when I want to. No promises.”
KSH: “Will it take about a year?”
KSR: “Hmm. Maybe?”
KSH: “3 Years? Ha.”
KSR: “I mean, a year is pretty long. But 3?”
KSH: “You think a year is too long? Then in 6 months?”
KSR: “I’ll do it when I want to. No promises.”
5. Kim Soo Hyun’s Letter To Kim Sae Ron From The Military (June 2018)
Two years later, Kim Soo Hyun allegedly sent Kim Sae Ron a handwritten letter on June 9, 2018, when he was 30 and she was 17. He addressed her by the nickname Saero-Nero and, after writing about the weather, told her that he missed her. “With all the younger guys here, I even thought maybe I’ll go back to school,” he wrote. “Would that mean we could go to school together?”
I remember one November morning, when snow was falling over the fallen leaves in the empty field, making it a lonely scene. I also remember when I first went on a mission, and my sight was completely filled with mountains. I thought, ‘Wow, I can’t believe I’m seeing something like this in Korea.’ I remember, on the day of ambush training, the moon was so bright and the sky was full of stars. Everything was so clear that I could see every nook and cranny of the terrain, which scared me. I spent the night terrified. I remember when the weather got better and I could smell the change in seasons. I was dying from a tough training session, but then, I could smell sand from a sunny beach. I remember feeling sentimental all day.
What I’m trying to say is… I just want to share what I think is good, what I find as joy, what I’m looking at or feeling… I want to share these things with you. It’s hard to see your face, but I still want to share with you how I feel inside. What I’m willing. I don’t want to burden you… So, I guess what I can say is… I miss you.
Anyway, it was a good weekend. I got to write some things. I thought about going back to work after discharge. Maybe I’ll travel to Japan or somewhere far like Northern Europe. With all the younger guys here, I even thought maybe I’ll go back to school. Would that mean we could go to school together? But when even is my discharge?
Looking back, it has already been 8 months since I enlisted. But when I look ahead, I still have over a year left. Haha. So, that said… I hope you’ll continue… to do your best to take good care of me. Salute.

6. Telegram Request (August 2018)
YouTube channel Garosero Research Institute released a message in which Kim Soo Hyun allegedly told 18-year-old Kim Sae Ron to delete KakaoTalk and contact him through Telegram on a new phone. Both in the end-to-end-encrypted “Secret Chat” mode regular chats on Telegram, messages can self-destruct after they are read.

7. The Postcard (November 2019)
Kim Soo Hyun allegedly wrote to Kim Sae Ron while he was in Paris for a trip in 2019 by using alias and referring to Kim Sae Ron only by the nickname he used for her, Saero-Nero. At 19 years old, Kim Sae Ron was not a minor at the time the postcard was sent, but the postcard–in conjunction with the text messages and military letter–serves as proof that the alleged relationship took place during the timeline established by Kim Sae Ron and her family. Kim Soo Hyun’s agency, GOLD MEDALIST, has stated that the two dated between the summer of 2019 and fall of 2020, after Kim Sae Ron became an adult.
