From having sexual relations with minors to bullying students, these Korean teachers have committed horrible crimes. Check out 6 terrible teachers who should be behind bars — if they aren’t already.
1. The “Sexy Panties” elementary teacher
An Ulsan elementary school teacher “Mr. A” was under fire for making all sorts of inappropriate remarks to his female students such as “There are so many beautiful girls in our class“, “Their boyfriends are so lucky“, and “Charming and sexy XXXXX“.
He was also accused of making his students wash their own underwear, asking them to share videos, and leaving comments such as “Our little princess shyly cleared the mission”, “Pretty pajamas, pretty underwear, I feel shy“, and “I love your pink underwear, little princess“.
In what seems to have been filmed inside the school gymnasium, Mr. A could be seen flipping the girls upside down and shaking them around.
2. The creepy Art Teacher who fell for his student
A high school girl Ha Eun stepped forward to expose her art teacher. She posted screenshots of their conversations as well as a summary of events.
Every day was like hell for me. Mr. ___ from ___ Academy in Daejeon. Now, I’m so disgusted that I feel like throwing up just by saying the word ‘teacher.’
You shouldn’t have said ‘I love you or ‘I like you’ to your student who is not only more than 20 years younger than you in your forties but also a minor. Even if you felt romantic feelings, even if you saw me as a woman, it was something you should not have done. You should not have mutilated my pure emotions of respect and like for you as a student.
I had been deliberating about speaking up regarding my discomfort in case it would be disadvantageous to my college entrance. You should not have acted in a way that would harm my college entrance, which is very important to me.
Thanks to you, my long-standing anxiety worsened, and I had anxiety attacks at the academy. When you asked me what was wrong, I was afraid you would start putting me at a disadvantage. I simply trembled in fear and could not say it was because of you. You killed me a few times over like that.
I write this post hoping that there will be no other victim. I desperately hope that no other student will have to be tortured by this overwhelming fear as I have.
— Ha Eun
In various conversations, he admitted to seeing her as a woman and responded defensively when she shared that she was uncomfortable.
- The teacher: “I was so worried about you [omitted] and it was such a shock that I wanted to help. It wasn’t that I was treating you like a patient, neither was I pitying you. It’s right to say that I did begin having romantic feelings for you for some time but I tried not to cross the line. I had many worries, such as if I would appear too unfriendly or if I would pressure you. I like liking you and nothing will change. Just treat me comfortably, Ha Eun.”
- Ha Eun: “So you’re saying that you see me as a woman.”
3. The teacher who shamed his student to death
On April 26, 2020, a Korean teacher “Mr. B” was found guilty of child abuse and got sentenced to 10 months in prison with 5 years of teaching license suspension.
Mr. B “caught” the 9th grade student Kim Gun Woo reading a book during class on March 25, 2019. The investigation later clarified, however, that A had instructed the students to spend the period studying and hence, Kim opted to read a copy of the Japanese light novel Wise Man’s Grandchild which he borrowed from his friend.
When A found Kim’s book, A openly “scolded” him for “reading a racy manhwa (manga).” Kim tried to explain that it is a work of fiction with illustrations, but A continued to “shame” Kim for “looking at naughty pictures of a girl in a bikini“. Ultimately, A physically punished Kim by making him do push-ups in front of the whole class for over 20 minutes.
Convinced he will get bullied by his fellow students for the incident, Kim Gun Woo then took his own life by jumping out of the hallway window from the 5th floor of the school building.
4. The teacher who sold adult photos he took on campus
JTBC News revealed that a male teacher “Mr. C” from a middle school in Seoul, produced and sold an adult photoshoot book on social media.
According to the report, Mr. C has uploaded hundreds of pictures of women in underwear on his social media account since 2017. He brought adult models to the school where he worked, taking pictures in various locations on campus, such as the computer lab and the office.
5. The female teacher who had a habitual sexual relationship with her student
On April 7, a High School teacher stood trial in a Daegu court on enhanced charges of child abuse. The High School teacher (32) is alleged to have had sex with her student 11 times in her car from May 2022 to the end of June 2022. The student was 17 at the time of the incident.
According to reports, this incident came to light when the teacher’s husband alleged that his wife had engaged in an improper relationship with the student and had also changed his grades on a citizen’s bulletin (epeople.co.kr). The High School has since fired the teacher.
6. Teachers who participated in Nth Room
It was revealed that one of the paid users of the Nth Room telegram, which exchanged pornographic photos and videos of underage girls being sexually assaulted, is actually an elementary school teacher.
According to the report, there was a total of 4 teachers who paid the chatroom to see underage pornographic content, and they were from regions such as Incheon, Gangwon, and Chungnam. A student-teacher also had ties to the incident.
