One of the worst announcements to hear as a K-Pop fan is when your favorite group’s members begin their military enlistment period. Most of the time, not every member of a group enlists at the same time, either, so it can make it seem like ages for all of them to finish their time and return as a full group. And in some cases, it really did take ages! Here are the 20 K-Pop boy groups that had the longest period between their first member enlisting and last member being discharged from the military.

20. BIGBANG

BIGBANG’s first member to enlist, T.O.P, started his military enlistment on February 9, 2017, and their last, Taeyang and Daesung, finished their enlistments on November 10, 2019. So their entire military period lasted two years, nine months, and two days (or 1,005 days).

19. 2AM

2AM’s first member to enlist, Seulong, started his military enlistment on November 28, 2017, and their last, Jinwoon, finished his enlistment on October 7, 2020. So their entire military period lasted two years, ten months, and ten days (or 1,045 days).

18. PENTAGON

PENTAGON’s first member to enlist, Jinho, started his military enlistment on May 11, 2020, but not all of their members have completed their enlistment yet, so it’s ongoing and has so far lasted two years, ten months, and 14 days (or 1,048 days).
