Here’s Everything You Need To Know About The 3 New K-Pop Groups Debuting In March
It seems like every month now there are new K-Pop groups debuting, which really isn’t all that far from the truth! While it’s not always big-name companies that are forming new groups, there are a ton of smaller or newly created companies that are doing their best to try and make a name for themselves and for their artist in the K-Pop industry.
These three boy groups, all coming from different companies with different concepts and styles, will be debuting in March this year!
1. CIIPHER
CIIPHER is an upcoming 7-member boy group that was formed by RAIN Company, the label created by K-Pop artist Rain himself, and will be the first group to debut under the company! The group is set to debut on March 15 with the members Hyunbin, Tan, Hwi, Keita, Tag, Dohwan, and Won.
Hyunbin is the leader of CIIPHER, born on February 26, 2000. He used to be a trainee at Starship Entertainment and was supposed to debut with CRAVITY at one time. He also participated on Produce X 101, where he was eliminated on episode 8 at #32.
Tan’s position is so far unknown in the group, and he was born on August 25, 1996. He is also a former Starship Entertainment trainee, and participated on NO.MERCY, the survival show that formed MONSTA X. Since he specializes in singing, he will likely have some kind of vocalist position!
Not much is known about Hwi yet, besides the fact that he was born on February 4, 1999 and is around 172cm/5’8″!
Keita will be a rapper and vocalist for CIIPHER, and was born on July 4, 2001 in Osaka, Japan. He was the first trainee to be under YG Entertainment‘s Japanese label, YG Japan, and participated on the Treasure Box survival show, where he was eliminated on the second to last episode. He even had his own fandom — Pockeita — while he was on the show, but he eventually left the company and joined RAIN Company in April 2019.
Tag’s position is still unknown in the group, and he was born on September 30, 2002. Though he’s Korean, he was raised in Thailand, and is therefore able to speak Korean and Thai, as well as English. He was an actor and model as a child, and also was a contestant on High School Rapper 4.
Dohwan’s position in the group is still unknown, and he was born on August 26, 2003. He also participated on YG Entertainment’s Treasure Box, and through it became best friends with TREASURE member Doyoung. One of his talents includes being able to play the Haegeum, which is a Korean string instrument.
Won’s position in the group is said to be as a vocalist and rapper, as well as the maknae, and he was born on December 18, 2003. He participated on the show Under Nineteen, where he placed 7th and allowed him to debut with 1THE9 and be a member of the group until they disbanded in August 2020. He is known to be a “happy virus”, and is also a gifted songwriter.
