Still, many K-Pop idols must maintain their “idol image,” which includes refraining from using vulgar language and discussing inappropriate topics, such as sex. Yet, some have accidentally said the wrong word or mispronounced something that made it NSFW. Check out 5+ K-Pop idols’ accidental yet iconic NSFW moments below.
1. BTS’s V
V attempted to say he would have been a saxophonist if he was not a BTS member. Instead, he said, “Sexy porn star.”
2. NewJeans’ Minji
Danielle had suggested they name a balloon animal “Jerry.” In response, Minji recommended the alternative “Peepee” only to realize its inappropriate connotations.
@dylacn MINJI?? 😭😭 #newjeans #kpop #fyp #minji #hanni #danielle #haerin #hyein
3. MONSTA X’s I.M
I.M accidentally said “sex” when he attempted to tell an Amsterdam concert audience that they were “sexy.”
4. ZEROBASEONE’s Seok Matthew
Seok Mattew tried to tell Taerae that his orange hat made it appear he was dressed to go hunting. Since Matthew is from Canada, he didn’t know “hunting” means “picking up” women to hook up in Korea.
Because I am not familiar with Korean culture, I wasn’t aware of the other meaning of ‘hunting.’ So, Taerae always wears that hat … the hat for hunting. He looks like he is going hunting, but I received an awkward response… So, I wasn’t sure… That’s when I knew.
— Matthew
matthew's unaware but turned out that hunting is a slang for trying to h00k up w someone which is probs why the other members reacted like that but you can literally see hao trying to do 🏹 and laughing loudly at the back 😭 my poor clueless heartz pic.twitter.com/3NHCKzrsaj

5. THE BOYZ’s Eric
On DIVE Studios‘ variety show HWAITING, Kevin and Eric competed in a pedometer game, so they had to choose a body part for the other to put the device on. Kevin chose neck for Eric, but Eric sounded like he had a completely different idea as he began to say a “D” word. He quickly changed his choice as the players exclaimed in shock.
Q. Where should the opponent put the pedometer?

6. SEVENTEEN
During The 2016 SEVENTEEN in Sydney fanmeeting, Dino unrolled a slip of paper to reveal a penalty meant to read, “Give us a sexy, aegyo, and tough expression.” Unfortunately, there was a typo, so “sexy,” which should be written as 섹시, was instead written as 섹스, which translates to just “sex.”
7. Mirae’s Siyoung
Mirae promoted the new song “Jump” with a shockingly NSFW TikTok where a hand made “suggestive” motions inside a pile of clothes before the camera moved out to reveal Siyoung dancing while sitting on jeans.

8. SHINee’s Taemin
Years later, the SHINee members were shocked to discover that Taemin had worn pants with the suggestive phrase “Open Here” by the crotch.
‘Open Here’ is a bit too much.

9. TWICE’s Momo
Momo responded to Sana‘s photos of herself doing skincare with cucumbers. While Momo had said, “Your cheeks must smell like cucumbers…,” it got horribly mistranslated.
10. GOT7’s BamBam
BamBam playfully gave his fellow GOT7 member Jackson Wang the new nickname, “Jacksoff,” much to his dismay… If one removes the “s” from the nickname, it instantly turns into an NSFW expression.

BamBam confessed later during a live broadcast that he hadn’t known the inappropriate connotations until his fans informed him.
I didn’t know what that mean until you guys told me. And, you know, the way Jackson reply me on Twitter, he forgot to put ‘s,’ so that’s why it’s a bit weird. But I want you guys to understand it’s a mistake. Okay? I didn’t mean that…
