These 15 K-Pop Idols Have The Most Copyrighted Songs To Their Name
In the K-Pop world, it isn’t uncommon for idols to perform songs created for them by producers outside of their group. While there’s certainly nothing wrong with this, it does usually make fans even more impressed to learn when idols are heavily involved in the creation of their music! There are many K-Pop artists who even have dozens of songs copyrighted by the Korea Music Copyright Association (KMCA), which is even more incredible. Here are the 15 active K-Pop artists that have the most copyrighted songs to date.
15. Mino (WINNER)
While other members of WINNER also have dozens of copyrighted songs to their name, Mino has the most, with 93 total. These include his solo songs and some of WINNER’s hits, along with songs he produced for other artists.
14. Young K (DAY6)
As with WINNER, Young K isn’t the only member of DAY6 that has many copyrighted songs, but he does have the most at 95! He has written lyrics for several other artists as well, including GOT7, UP10TION, Eric Nam, and more.
13. Miryo (Brown Eyed Girls)
Miryo is the only female K-Pop idol that made it onto this list, and her accomplishments are really impressive! In total, she has 98 copyrighted songs, and can also take he title as one of the longest-running, still active female idols in her original group (and as a solo artist).
12. Woozi (SEVENTEEN)
As SEVENTEEN’s hard-working songwriter, composer, and producer, it shouldn’t come as too big of a surprise that Woozi ended up on this list. To date, he has 99 songs copyrighted under his name, and along with producing most of SEVENTEEN’s music, he’s also credited with helping create songs for Ailee, I.O.I, EXO‘s Chanyeol, and more.
11. I.M (MONSTA X)
MONSTA X’s maknae doesn’t let his young age hold him back from making a name for himself! He’s the first on this list to have over a hundred songs to his name, with 101 copyrighted in total. He has at least songwriting credits on the majority of MONSTA X’s discography, and has several solo songs of his own as well.
10. Junho (2PM)
Junho is actually currently tied with I.M in terms of copyrighted songs, with 101 of them currently. His first credited song was 2PM’s “Give It To Me” back in 2011, and he has even written songs for the group, and himself, in Japanese as well.
9. J-Hope (BTS)
J-Hope is one of three BTS members on this list, though all the members of BTS have some songs copyrighted! At the current time, he has 104 copyrighted songs, and while nearly all of his work has been for himself or BTS, he is also credited for helping create Jo Kwon‘s “Animal”.
8. Yongguk (former B.A.P)
Yongguk, the former leader of B.A.P, has produced a lot of songs in his time as an idol and a solo artist, with 127 currently copyrighted. Though he’s completing his enlistment at the time, he is set to be released next month, and hopefully will return to writing great music!
7. Joohoney (MONSTA X)
Like I.M, Joohoney is another member of MONSTA X that has claims to tons of songs, with the most in the group at 132 copyrighted to him. Along with being credited for most of his group’s discography as well as his own, he has also helped create music for labelmate CRAVITY and former labelmate Mad Clown.
6. Suga/Agust D (BTS)
Suga is next on the list of BTS members to have the songs copyrighted to him, with 133 to date. He has contributed to most of BTS’s discography and has come out with two solo mixtapes, and he is credited for songs by many other artists, including Lee So-ra, Epik High, Suran, IU, and HEIZE.
5. Zico (Block B)
Zico is well-known for composing and producing his own music, Block B’s songs, and other artists’ songs as well, and in total he has 140 copyrighted songs at this time. The amount of songs for other K-Pop idols and groups he has been credited with is extensive, ranging from Super Junior to Wanna One and even PSY! Others include Crush, f(x), and Hyolyn.
4. Ravi (VIXX)
Ravi actually has the second-most copyrighted songs in the K-Pop world, because the top 3 currently all have the same amount! At this time, the VIXX rapper and soloist has 160 songs copyrighted, with his song-writing career beginning as far back as helping to co-write the lyrics for VIXX’s debut single, “Super Hero”. Between his work for VIXX and his own extensive solo discography, it’s no wonder he has so many songs credited to him!
3. RM (BTS)
RM has the most copyrighted songs out of all the members of BTS and is one of three K-Pop artists with the most currently, with 171 copyrighted songs to date. He is the youngest idol to reach this number, with most of his work made for himself and BTS as well as the group’s individual members, though he has helped with a few other artists as well.
2. PSY
PSY has been in the K-Pop industry since around 2001, which has given him a long time to build up his copyrighted songs list! He, like RM, currently has 171 in total, with most of it his own songs or collaborations with other artists.
1. G-Dragon (BIGBANG)
And finally, G-Dragon finishes off the list tied with the previous two artists at 171 copyrighted songs! Many of these songs are performed by BIGBANG and himself, as well as his individual fellow members for their solos, labelmate iKON, and others.
