Taemin debuted in SHINee at the young age of 14 and has since gone on to become one of the most popular idols in the industry.
Although Taemin was known as a cute, young boy when he made his debut, his image has completely changed since then. He has proven himself to be more than just a handsome face—he’s someone who is also brimming with talent!

2008
Taemin, SHINee’s maknae, debuted in 2008 with the title track “Replay”. It is still considered one of the best K-Pop debuts to date!
2009
In 2009, SHINee won the “Best Newcomer” award alongside Davichi and Mighty Mouth. Later that year, they released their hit song “Ring Ding Dong”.
2010
2010 was a defining year in SHINee’s career. They released Lucifer on July 19 and went on to top various digital and physical music charts!
2011
SHINee made history by being the first Asian artists to perform at Abbey Road Studios in London on July 19.
2012
In November 2012, SHINee won the award for “Best Dance Performance – Male Group” at the 2012 Mnet Asian Music Awards for their single “Sherlock”. They were highly praised for their intricate and synchronized choreography!
2013
SHINee made a comeback with “Dream Girl” in February 2013, and “Why So Serious?” was released the month after. Fans were definitely spoiled that year.
2014
Taemin finally made his solo debut on August 18, 2014 with the mini album Ace. Meanwhile, the latter half of 2014 was dedicated to SHINee’s 20-city, 30-concert Japan tour.
2015
On February 3, Taemin was confirmed for the cast of the first season of Match Made in Heaven Returns. Two months after, he was cast in the JTBC program Off To School.
2016
After the success of his debut album Ace, Taemin released his first full-length album, Press It, on February 23. American singer Bruno Mars participated in producing the album’s title track, “Press Your Number”.
2017
Taemin released his second studio album, Move, in October. A repackaged edition entitled Move-ing was released on December 10.
2018
On November 5, Taemin released his first Japanese studio album entitled Taemin. It had fans all over the world drooling over him!
2019
He released his second mini album, Want, on February 11, 2019. It ranked 4th on Billboard‘s “World Albums” chart. On August 7, Taemin was announced to be a member of SuperM, SM Entertainment‘s “K-Pop supergroup”.
2020
Finally, Taemin recently released his third studio album Never Gonna Dance Again, with “2 Kids” as its title track. He’s always outdoing himself!
