10+ Netflix K-Dramas Releasing In 2023 To Be Excited For

From second seasons to new debuts, Netflix has many K-Dramas lined up.

With Korean dramas becoming popular worldwide, Netflix doesn’t only stream them but produces original series for viewers to enjoy. So here are sixteen highly-anticipated K-Dramas that Netflix is reportedly releasing in 2023.

1. Daily Dose of Sunshine

Based on a webtoon, Daily Dose of Sunshine stars actress Park Bo Young as a nurse who wants to brighten the lives of the mental health patients she cares for.

2. The Uncanny Counter Season 2

Though one season was the original plan for The Uncanny Counter, its success earned it a second season to continue the counters’ battle against evil spirits. Despite the scheduling conflicts of its main actors filming other dramas, they’re working hard to release it as soon as possible.

3. Chicken Nugget

Chicken Nugget takes inspiration from a webtoon where a girl enters a strange machine that turns her into a chicken nugget. Starring Kim Yoo Jung and Ryu Seung Ryong, the K-Drama will follow the girl’s father and an intern as they attempt to turn her human again—encountering dark secrets along the way.

4. Squid Game Season 2

Squid Game became one of Netflix’s biggest hits upon its release. Naturally, its success earned it another season, which was confirmed by the show’s creator Hwang Dong Hyuk. He told Vanity Fair the second season would release in late 2023, or at least by 2024.

5. Bloodhounds

Adapted from a webtoon, Bloodhounds follows three friends who enter the world of money-lending to pay off their debts while also defending the weak who are preyed on by the rich.

6. Arthdal Chronicles Season 2

While the filming for Arthdal Chronicles‘ second season was delayed because of the pandemic, the drama has cast new leads, Lee Joon Gi and Shin Se Kyung, for its time jump and has begun filming. They’re aiming to release the show in the first half of 2023.

7. DOONA!

Adapted from the webtoon The Girl Downstairs and starring Suzy, the story of a college student falling for the former K-Pop singer who’s become his neighbor will unfold on-screen.

8. Murder DIEary

Starring Choi Woo Shik and inspired by a webtoon, Murder DIEary follows the journey of a college student who accidentally kills someone and later finds out they were a serial killer. Realizing his ability to detect who’s a murderer and acting on it to kill evil-doers, he soon becomes a vigilante hunted by a determined detective.

9. Black Knight

In a dystopian 2071 where the world is overtaken by air pollution, a group of delivery men, known as Black Knights, fight for the world’s survival. The dark fantasy that’s based on a webtoon will star Kim Woo Bin.

10. Mask Girl

Mask Girl is adapted from a webtoon, giving everyone a peek into the life of an office worker who’s insecure about her appearance and lives a double life as a masked internet BJ. Viewers are in for a wild ride as her life soon turns upside down by unexpected events, including a co-worker who has a crush on her.

11. Celebrity

Starring Park Gyu Young, Celebrity follows a young woman’s scandalous battle against Seoul influencers to become the next famous celebrity.

12. A Time Called You

A Time Called You is a remake of the popular Taiwanese drama Someday or One Day. After the death of her lover, a grieving woman gains the ability to time travel back to 1998 where she meets a man with “an uncanny resemblance” to him.

13. Gyeongseong Creature

Taking place in 1945, Han So Hee and Park Seo Joon play the leads in Gyeongseong Creature as they team up “while fighting monsters born out of human greed.

14. Queenmaker

In the political drama Queenmaker, a successful general manager of a conglomerate helps a human rights lawyer work towards becoming the next mayor of Seoul.

15. Goodbye Earth

With an asteroid speeding towards Earth in Goodbye Earth, a teacher puts their life on the line to protect their former students.

16. Song of the Bandits

Song of the Bandits will star Kim Nam Gil, Girls’ Generation‘s Seohyun, and Yoo Jae Myung in the harsh land of Gando where bandits face life or death to survive and protect their homes and families.
