The NewJeans Members’ True, Off-Camera Personalities

Since their 2022 debut, NewJeans has attracted a legion of loyal fans with their great music, style, visuals, and personalities.

In order to help fans get to know them more, Minji shared her thoughts on the true personalities of her members in an interview with Billboard.

1. Hanni

First up, Hanni is the second oldest in NewJeans, born in 2004. She and Minji are only a few months apart, and this may be a big reason why they’re such good friends. The latter said that they are so close, she knows what Hanni is thinking with eye contact alone.

I feel like I can have a conversation with Hanni by just looking at her eyes.

Moreover, Minji added that the Vietnamese-Australian member not only looks like a good girl, she is one in real life as well.

She’s always caring for the people around her and considerate towards them.

2. Danielle

Next up, Danielle is the group’s “sunflower,” the one who brightens up everyone’s day with her sunny personality.

Her smile alone can warm the hearts of those around her, and she’s also ultra-responsible and mature!

Danielle’s bright smile just warms my heart and at times she is like an older sister you can learn things from.

Fellow member Haerin chimed in to say that Danielle is a fantastic singer whose strength is her empathy and ability to transmit “intricate emotions” through her voice.

All five members have their own characteristics that make them special, but what first comes to mind is how good Danielle is at embodying emotions when she sings. She has the power to draw the listener in with her ability to express intricate emotions through the lyrics of any song.

3. Haerin

Minji noted Haerin is particularly truthful at all times. As such, she’s a trustworthy member whom the eldest can easily confide in despite their age difference.

Haerin is the most honest person in the world, so I feel like she’s someone I can trust and lean on. She’s really thoughtful, too.

4. Hyein

Last but certainly not least, Minji couldn’t help but gush over maknae Hyein.

Though no one would hold the latter at fault for being proud of her achievements at so young an age, she’s the opposite in real life—as humble as can be!

Everything about Hyein is amazing. She says she doesn’t see it, but that’s actually one of the best things about her. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for her.

Minji concluded by saying that she genuinely loves her members. She’s thankful they were put in a group together and that they can promote as NewJeans.
