The Most “Overrated” Trainees On “I-LAND 2”
The survival show I-Land 2 began airing in late April, introducing 24 contestants competing to debut in a new girl group under WakeOne Entertainment. This is the second season of I-Land, the show that formed boy group ENHYPEN.
Like all survival shows, favorites and not-so-favorites have arisen amongst netizens as the season has progressed. This recently led to a discussion of who is believed to be the most overrated trainees.
In a post on the /mnetiland2 subreddit, netizens discussed their picks for highly popular trainees who are less talented than other contestants. Here are some of the most mentioned.
1. Ryu Sarang
So far in the program, Ryu Sarang has ranked as high as 3rd, only ending up in the “Ground” once.
Some feel Sarang’s talents are not outstanding enough to keep her from fading into the background, while others feel she has received too much praise in comparison to trainees who are at the same skill level.

2. Lingling
Lingling began the show ranked at 15, ending up in the “Ground” two times in a row. Currently, she is on the come-up, ranking 7th in episode five.
Some feel Lingling has not quite earned this increased ranking, especially internationally, as she has not been as noticeable.

3. Fuko
Except one episode, Fuko has ranked in the top five consistently, even ranking third twice.
Fuko’s performances have failed to impress some, with her not leaving a big enough impression despite her unique vocal tone.

4. Mai
Mai is one of a small number of contestants that have not gotten sent to the “Ground.” She has consistently ranked second across the most recent episodes.
According to some viewers, Mai’s popularity is linked to her visuals, leading some to question if he skills alone would lead to her being highly ranked. Still, some desire to see more from Mai before making any final judgements.
