SEVENTEEN showed a tremendous increase in popularity and sales in 2020, both in South Korea and Japan, as well as internationally elsewhere.
Their album sales have been showing a pretty steady increase over the years since their debut, with each album making, in general, more sales than the last, excluding their repackaged albums.
Here are their 13 Korean language albums in order of sales, which you’ll find is nearly listed in chronological order as well!
13. 17 Carat
17 Carat came out on May 29, 2015, and was the group’s debut mini-album. The title song is “Adore U”, which was also the group’s debut song, and the album has 5 songs in total. To date, it has sold 108.1k copies!
12. Love & Letter (Repackage)
Love & Letter is the repackaged version of LOVE&LETTER, which includes “Pretty U” (the title track of the original album) and “Very Nice”, the title track of the repackaged version and arguably one of their first big hits. The album was released on July 4, 2016, and has sold 138.6k copies.
11. BOYS BE
BOYS BE is the second mini-album that SEVENTEEN released, and came out on September 10, 2015. The title track is “Mansae”, and the album also peaked at #2 on Gaon Album Chart and at #1 on the Billboard World Albums chart. To date, it has sold 198.3k copies.
10. LOVE&LETTER
LOVE&LETTER was released on April 25, 2016, and was SEVENTEEN’s first full-length album. “Pretty U” is the title track, and it also includes unit versions of songs such as “Adore U”, “Monday to Saturday”, and “Shining Diamond”. It has sold 221.3k units since its release.
9. Director’s Cut
Director’s Cut is a re-released version of the group’s TEEN, AGE album, and came out on February 5, 2018. The title track on this version is “Thanks”, and it has sold 231.8k copies to date.
8. Going Seventeen
Going Seventeen is the group’s third mini-album, released on December 5, 2016. The title track of this album is “Boom Boom”, and it performed well on music charts, reaching #1 on the Gaon Album Chart and #1 on the Billboard World Albums chart. It has sold 307.7k copies total!
7. Al1
Al1 was released on May 22, 2017, and is the group’s fourth mini-album to be released. It has the iconic “Don’t Wanna Cry” as its title track, which won SEVENTEEN six music show awards, and is also their most-viewed music video to date! The album has sold 363.0k copies.
6. TEEN, AGE
TEEN, AGE is the second full-length album from SEVENTEEN, released on November 6, 2017 with the title song “Clap”. It was the group’s second album to make it to #1 on the Billboard World Albums chart, and reached #1 on the Gaon Album Chart as well. To date, it has sold 395.6k copies!
5. You Make My Day
You Make My Day is SEVENTEEN’s fifth mini-album, and came out on July 16, 2018 with the title track “Oh My!”. It, too, peaked at #1 on the Gaon Album Chart, and also placed at #8 on Gaon’s year-end South Korean album chart. It has sold 431.9k copies in total.
4. You Made My Dawn
You Made My Dawn is the group’s sixth mini-album, released on January 21, 2019. With the title song “Home”, it debuted at the top of both the Gaon Album Chart as well as the Japanese Oricon Albums Chart, and the lead single won SEVENTEEN 10 music show awards. The album itself has sold 525.6k copies.
3. An Ode
An Ode was released on September 16, 2019, and is the group’s third full-length album. Once again, the album debuted at the top of the Gaon Album Chart, and also hit #1 on the Oricon Album Chart on its third week. With the title track “Fear”, An Ode has sold 974.4k copies to date.
2. ; [Semicolon]
; [Semicolon] is SEVENTEEN’s most recent album, released on October 19, 2020 as a special mini-album especially towards young people struggling during the coronavirus pandemic. With the title track “Home;Run”, it became their album with the most pre-orders ever at 1.1 million, and has sold 1.12 million copies so far.
1. Heng:garae
And finally, Heng:garae, which is the group’s seventh mini-album and came out on June 22, 2020, is SEVENTEEN’s best-selling album so far. The title track is “Left & Right”, it peaked at #1 on the Gaon Albums Chart, and so far it has sold a whopping 1.41 million copies!
