6 Songs You Need To Add To Your Spring Playlist, According To Eric Nam
In a new episode of DIVE Studios‘ K-Pop Daebak podcast, Eric Nam recommended songs to add to a “Chill Spring Break Vibes” playlist. He recommended a diverse mix of K-Pop songs that are refreshing and sure to get you in the seasonal mood! Here are six songs that he believes that everyone needs in their spring playlist.
1. “Cherry Blossom Ending” – Busker Busker
Since its release in 2012, Busker Busker’s “Cherry Blossom Ending” has reached over 200 million streams and 7.5 million download sales. It’s South Korea’s annual spring anthem as it consistently enters Melon charts. Eric said, “It will take over the charts over and over and over, and it’s just a pleasant song.”
2. “Spring Love” – Eric Nam and Red Velvet’s Wendy
Red Velvet’s Wendy collaborated with Eric Nam on this project song for SM Station. Reading the DIVE Studios staff-provided description for the song, Eric said, “The lyric depicts the fluttering emotions blooms between friends with Wendy and Eric’s sweet voice.” Just a few hours after its release, “Spring Love” topped five charts. Eric remembered filming the music video with Wendy before adding to the recommendation, “You’re going to love it. It’s so cute!”
3. “Love Blossom” – K.Will
K.Will, who trained under producer Bang Si Hyuk, is considered the “Prince of OST.” Having the same backup dancers, Eric knows the solo artist well. He described him as being a refreshing guy with a soulful R&B sound. He encouraged listening to K.Will’s music and said, “This dude is such a good singer. If you guys don’t know K.Will, you guys are missing out.”
4. “Gift” – MeloMance
MeloMance is a duo that had their debut in 2015. Eric praised the vocalists, saying that they have great voices. He recommended their song, “Gift,” to give an additional fresh spring vibe to the growing playlist.
5. “What the Spring??” – 10cm
If you’ve had enough of sweet and romantic music, Eric added an alternative song by 10cm. The duo’s song “What the Spring??” is a tongue-in-cheek response to the recurring slew of spring love songs. Eric explained, “From my best understanding, there’s like so many spring love songs, like so many of them, that it’s like the anti-love love song, and it’s kind of sarcastic and cynical in that way.”
6. “You, Who?” – Eric Nam and Somi
The last addition to the playlist is Eric’s duet with Somi. “You, Who?” is actually Somi’s first released song as a soloist, having been a member of the girl group I.O.I beforehand. As one of the writers on the song, Eric said, “We put this together a few years ago as well, and it’s a great spring medium tempo song.”
