BLACKPINK Ties With 2nd-Gen Powerhouse As Most Loved Girl Group Of 21st Century
In a new survey conducted by Star News and Gallup Korea, Korean netizens have chosen the most beloved K-Pop girl group of the 21st century.
The survey was conducted between August 19 to 23, and recorded 1,052 responses from men and women across the nation aged between 19 to 69. Each participant could name up to two groups maximum. Here are the top ten names on the list:
Red Velvet, KARA, and aespa:
All three groups tied with 5% of the total votes.
IVE:
IVE bagged an impressive 7% of the total votes, ranking seventh on the list.
2NE1:
With 10% of the total votes, 2NE1 proved they rule the hearts of Korea despite the hiatus.
TWICE:
TWICE received a total of 13% of the votes, finishing in fifth place on the list.
Wonder Girls:
The second-generation queens came in fourth, with 21% of the total votes.
NewJeans:
Despite less than two years of activity, NewJeans managed to bag the third place on the list with a whopping 25% of the votes.
Girls’ Generation and BLACKPINK:
The respective queens of the second and third generations, Girls’ Generation and BLACKPINK, showed their stronghold on the Korean public. The groups tied, with each bagging 42% of the total votes!
Some of the other significant names on the list include Apink, MAMAMOO, and SISTAR, all of whom tied for 11th place with 4% of the votes. T-ara and (G)I-DLE ranked 14th with 3% of the votes, followed by Brown Eyed Girls and 4Minute with 2% votes each.
