These Were The Top 10 Best-Selling K-Pop Albums In July 2020
July is finally over, and the month was filled with all kinds of amazing comebacks and new album releases! There were so many album sales this summer month, and all 10 of the albums on this list, determined by Hanteo, sold over 40,000 copies in July. Some of them, however, were released in the second half of June, so only the sales within the month of July were counted, and in total, all of these albums actually have well over 90,000 total sales! K-pop just keeps getting more popular, and these 10 artists are greatly benefitting from it.
10. Equal by Woodz
The list kicks off with Woodz, AKA Cho Seungyoun of UNIQ. The album Equal with title track “Love Me Harder” was released on June 29, so it had its best sales within the month of June, for a total of 102k copies sold in total. In July, however, it sold just 41.8k of those sales, putting it in 10th place on this list!
9. Vivid by AB6IX
Vivid came out on June 29 as well, and also sold more copies (about 63.6k) in the month it was released than in July. In July, the album with the title song “The Answer” sold 53.6k copies, for a total so far of about 117.2k copies sold.
8. Splash! by Jinhyuk (UP10TION)
Solo artist Lee Jinhyuk’s 2nd mini album comes in at #8, released on June 30 with, of course, the most sales on that last June day. In July, the “Bedlam” album sold an additional 60.9k copies.
7. Go Live by Stray Kids
Go Live came out all the way back on June 17, but sales for this album with the iconic single “God’s Menu” were still great in July! It sold about 62.9k copies that month, for a total of 212.6k copies sold since its release.
6. Song of the Sirens by GFRIEND
GFRIEND made their comeback with Song of the Sirens and the accompanying single “Apple” on July 13. Within the first week alone the album sold 67.2k copies (which beat out their last album, Labyrinth, which sold 53.2k copies in its first week), and in the entirety of the month there were 72.1k total sales!
5. 9LORYUS by SF9
SF9’s latest album, complete with the main single “Summer Breeze”, came out on July 6 and had 72.3k copies sold in its first week! In total it has sold about 97.2k total copies, and the first week album sales greatly out-sold their last album, First Collection, which had 68.7k sales its first week.
4. Monster by Red Velvet’s Seulgi & Irene
Irene & Seulgi’s debut album as a duo did incredibly well! It came out on July 6, selling 177.4k sales during its first week and 158.1k total sales to date.
3. Zero : Fever Part. 1 by ATEEZ
The start of a new era for ATEEZ, Zero : Fever Part. 1 has also been their best-selling so far by a long shot, with 208.3k copies sold in July in only 3 days after its July 29 release! Their last album, Treasure Epilogue: Action to Answer, sold 62.8k copies in an entire week. Talk about growth!
2. How You Like That by BLACKPINK
No one should be too surprised to see BLACKPINK on this list. It came out on July 17 and sold an incredible 155.8k copies on its first day alone and 204.3k in its first week, with a total of 210.6k copies sold in the whole month. In comparison, their last album, Kill This Love, sold 146.1k copies in its first week.
1. 1 Billion Views by EXO-SC
And finally, at the #1 place is EXO-SC with their 2nd mini-album 1 Billion Views. On its first day it sold 269k copies, in its first week 412.6k, and now has a total of 476.8k total sales! Their debut album, What a Life, sold 234.9k copies during its first week, as a comparison.
