The Top 10 Most Streamed K-Pop Songs on Spotify In 2018
As 2018 comes to a close, we take a look at which K-pop songs were the most streamed on the music streaming service Spotify in 2018.
#10 – Anpanman (BTS)
Kicking off the top 10 is “Anpanman” by BTS from Love Yourself: Tear. The bubbly and vibrant track received a lot of praise when it came out and spotify users clearly agreed as it was streamed over 53+ million times in just 7 months.
#9 – Love Scenario (iKON)
#9 is the Daesang winning “Love Scenario” by iKON. This song about love is a perfect fit for iKON which makes sense as it was written by their very own B.I. It was streamed 56+ million times since it’s release in January.
#8 – Bad Boy (Red Velvet)
The first single released by the girl group this year finds itself at #8 on the list. Red Velvet’s seductive track was streamed over 56.9+ million times this year.
#7 – Airplane Pt.2 (BTS)
Another B-side from Love Yourself: Tear. This song was streamed from Tokyo to Italy making it #7 by earning over 58+ million streams overall.
#6 – The Truth Untold (BTS)
BTS and Love Yourself: Tear continue their domination of this list. This time with “The Truth Untold”, a haunting ballad sung by the vocal line of the group. It had 60.3+ million streams in 2018 which gives it the #6 spot.
#5 – Idol (BTS feat. Nicki Minaj).
And so the BTS trend continues. Their version of “Idol” featuring Nicki Minaj managed to amass 60.9+ million streams in just a few months, earning this version the halfway mark of #5 on the list.
#4 – Idol (BTS)
The version of “Idol” without Nicki managed to edge out the version with her narrowly, having been streamed 61+ million times since its release in August giving it the spot of #4 on this list.
#3 – BBoom BBoom (MOMOLAND)
At #3, we have the viral hit from MOMOLAND which catapulted them out of “nugu” status. Since “BBoom BBoom” exploded in January it has been streamed 70+ million times on Spotify.
#2 – Ddu-Du Ddu-Du (BLACKPINK)
BLACKPINK’s long awaited release was an instant hit around the world. It racked up an impressive 111+ million streams since it’s release in the Summer to give it the runner up spot on this list.
#1 – Fake Love (BTS)
BTS return to top the list. Their single off the album Love Yourself: Tear is now the most streamed Korean song on Spotify of all time. With 183+ million streams it is by far the most streamed K-pop song on Spotify this year.
