5. The Philippines

First up, the uniform of the Philippines was made by famous local fashion designer Francis Libiran. The “Sinag” Barong is a modern version of the traditional garment worn by Filipino men, made to look like armor. It was crafted using piña-jusi fabric

I wanted something that represents our athletes as they go into battle.

2. Haiti

Italian fashion designer with partial Haitian origin, Stella Jean, was the brain behind Haiti’s uniform this year. She partnered with local artist Philippe Dodard to create a garment with colorful and lively prints that is popular in their hometown.

The locally woven chambray shirt is a nod to the country’s tradition in spinning this fabric while the men’s field jacket is inspired by the Haitian shirt guayabera.
