Here’s How TWICE’s Most Recent Comebacks Prove They Are Queens Of Duality
With the recent release of TWICE‘s Japanese album Perfect World, it’s worth looking back on the opposing concepts TWICE showed off over the past few months.
They started off with “Alcohol-Free”, which allowed them to show their more mature yet, playful and flirty side with a Latin vibe.
TWICE then turned that Latin vibe on its head for their Japanese single. “Perfect World” played with the more fiery Latin sound and gave the girls a chance to show off that mature look with a sultry edge.
Here’s how each member of TWICE showed off both concepts:
Jihyo
Jihyo really flexed her muscles (both figuratively and literally) this comeback with her especially able to show off her dance skills in “Perfect World”.
Nayeon
Nayeon proves that the color red can give off completely different energies. In “Alcohol-Free” it’s soft and flirty while “Perfect World” brings the power to the color.
Jeongyeon
ONCEs missed Jeongyeon during the last comeback but they were given the gift of her girl crush charms during both comebacks. “Alcohol-Free” was the “girl next door” while “Perfect World” was the “girl who’ll help you get over your ex”.
Momo
Momo‘s dance background really suited both songs’ Latin vibe. Momo was able to show off both Bossa Nova inspired dance moves in “Alcohol-Free” and Tango inspired moves in “Perfect World”.
Sana
Sana is the queen of the glamour shot and these MVs prove she knows the subtle differences that can take a shot from “cute-sexy” to “alluring-sexy”.
Mina
Mina was given the chance to demonstrate a wide range of emotions in these comebacks. In “Alcohol-Free” her softness draws the viewers in while in “Perfect World” she acts almost as a narrator, controlling the scene using her cut outs.
Dahyun
Dahyun is known for skills as a concept queen and these comebacks prove she hasn’t lost her touch. She is able to move between one of her softest looks yet to one of her toughest within the span of one MV!
Chaeyoung
Chaeyoung‘s rap skills have only improved since she debuted and she proves that here. She shows an inviting rap in “Alcohol-Free” and then quickly shuts it down in “Perfect World”. Talk about emotional range in rapping!
Tzuyu
Tzuyu‘s visuals are widely renowned and it’s not hard to see why. In both she brings her modelesque beauty but is able to take the stunning, rose-like looks seen in “Alcohol-Free” and add the thorns for “Perfect World”.
We love both these comebacks for the girls and can’t wait to see which direction they go next! Which concept was your favorite? Let us know and make sure to check out their Perfect World album, now streaming.
