Two Years After Their Disbandment, Here Are Where All 11 Of X1’s Members Are Now
It may be hard to believe it, but it has been just over two years ago, on January 6, 2020, when X1 sadly disbanded long before they were planned to. Fortunately since then, all 11 members have gone on to have successful careers on their own, with some of them pursuing solo careers while others have joined K-Pop groups! Here is where each former member of X1 is now, as of early 2022.
1. Seungwoo
Seungwoo made his debut with VICTON in 2016 before he joined Produce X 101, which he competed on along with his fellow member Byungchan. He ended up placing third on the show, earning him a place in X1, but of course, the group didn’t last long.
Fortunately, he did have VICTON to fall back on after X1’s disbandment! Along with this, later in 2020, Seungwoo made his solo debut on August 10 with the album Fame, and also released another solo album called Fade in 2021. On July 28 last year, he enlisted in his military service, which he is currently in the process of completing.
2. Seungyoun
Seungyoun, known better these days by his solo name WOODZ, was a member of UNIQ before he took part in Produce X 101. He has been in the K-Pop industry long before most other members of X1, having debuted with UNIQ in 2014, and continues to be a member of the group today.
He ended up placing fifth on Produce X 101, and after the group disbanded, he, too, ended up pursuing a solo career to great success! He released his first solo album, Equal, on June 29, 2020, and has gone on to release two other EPs — Woops! (2020) and Only Lovers Left (2021) — as well as the single album Set (2021).
3. Wooseok
Like the two idols above, Wooseok was also already a member of a K-Pop group before he joined X1. He debuted with UP10TION in 2015, and was then known by the stage name Wooshin. After his participation on Produce X 101, in which he ended up in second place, he started going by his birth name Kim Wooseok.
After X1’s disbandment, Wooseok went back to being an active member of UP10TION, and also began his own solo career as well! He released his first solo album, 1st Desire [Greed], on May 25, 2020, and has since released a second album, 2nd Desire [Tasty], on February 2, 2021.
4. Yohan
Yohan was a trainee with OUI Entertainment before he joined Produce X 101, and so when X1 ended up falling through, he originally returned to his company still a trainee. Like other former members of X1, he began a solo career soon after the disbandment, and released his first single “No More” on August 25, 2020.
Later the same year, Yohan made his debut with WEi! They debuted on October 5 with the mini-album Identity : First Sight, and he serves as the center, lead rapper, and sub-vocalist of the group. He also just released his first solo mini-album, Illusion, on January 10 this year!
5. Hangyul
Hangyul first debuted as a member of the group IM in 2017, during which he participated on the rebooting project show The Unit. When he ended up not placing high enough to debut in UNB, he later went on to participate in Produce X 101, where he placed seventh and debuted with X1 in 2019. IM reportedly disbanded sometime this same year.
After the disbandment of X1, he and fellow former X1 member Dohyun formed the duo H&D, which debuted on April 21, 2020. They only released a couple of albums and singles before disbanding later the same year on September 23, but at the same time, they were both announced to be part of an upcoming boy group formed by PocketDol Studio! This group ended up being BAE173, which debuted on November 19, 2020 with the mini-album Intersection: Spark.
6. Junho
Junho was a trainee with Woollim Entertainment before he participated on Produce X 101. He ended up placing ninth on the show, earning him a spot in X1, but of course he had to change plans when the group disbanded.
On May 31, 2020, Junho participated in his agency’s artist collaboration single “Relay” as a member of Woollim Rookie. On September 4, it was announced that he would be joining an upcoming boy group formed by Woollim Entertainment, and he officially debuted with DRIPPIN on October 28 the same year with the mini-album Boyager! They’re set to release their latest album, Villain, on January 17 this year.
7. Dongpyo
Dongpyo was a trainee with DSP Media when he joined Produce X 101, and ended up placing sixth on the show. For a while after X1 disbanded, he remained as a trainee at his company until he had the opportunity to debut with a group.
On February 4, 2021, he was announced as the fourth member of MIRAE, which he debuted with on March 17 with the mini-album KILLA. They released their second album, Splash, on August 25, and their newest album Marvelous is set to come out on January 12 this year!
8. Minhee
Minhee was a trainee with Starship Entertainment before he participated in Produce X 101 in 2019. He placed tenth on the show, but he and fellow Starship Entertainment trainee Hyeongjun returned to their company after the disbandment of X1.
Fortunately, it wasn’t too long before it was announced that he would be debuting in a nine-member boy group later that year. The announcement was made on February 13, and on April 14, Minhee officially debuted with CRAVITY with the mini-album Season 1. HIDEOUT: Remember Who We Are! They have since released two other albums in the HIDEOUT series, and their latest album, The Awakening: Written in the Stars, was released on August 19, 2021.
9. Eunsang
Eunsang was a trainee with Brand New Music before his participation on Produce X 101, and he ended up placing as the “X” rank on the show and making it into X1. After the group disbanded, he returned to being a trainee at his company.
On August 31, 2020, he made his solo debut with the single album Beautiful Scar. It was nearly a year before he made his comeback with his second single album, Beautiful Sunshine, on August 16, 2021, and it was announced that he would be making his acting debut on the K-Drama Idol: The Coup on September 24 the same year. Finally, on January 7, 2022, he was introduced as a member of the Brand New Music pre-debut group BRANDNEWZ!
10. Hyeongjun
Hyeongjun, like Minhee, was a trainee with Starship Entertainment before his time on Produce X 101. He placed fourth on the show and became a member of X1 before their disbandment, at which point he returned to his company.
Along with Minhee, he too was announced as a member of the upcoming boy group CRAVITY in early 2020, and debuted with the group on April 14 of the same year. Since then, his discography with CRAVITY is the same as Minhee’s!
11. Dohyon
Finally, Dohyon was a trainee with PocketDol Studio when he first came into the K-Pop scene as a participant on the survival show Under Nineteen in 2018. He was eliminated on episode 9, and went on to compete on Produce X 101 next year where he placed eighth.
After X1 disbanded, he along with Hangyul formed the duo H&D which debuted on April 21, 2020. Like Hangyul, after H&D disbanded as well, he was soon announced as a member for PocketDol’s upcoming boy group, and since their debut on November 19, 2020, he has been a member of BAE173!
