Over 1.2 million EXO’luXion ticket buyers crash ticketing site
EXO recently announced the launch of their second tour EXO Planet #2: EXO’luXion along with ticketing information. However, as 1.2 million users flocked to Yes24‘s site upon its opening, servers crashed.
Despite preparing for tens of thousands of users, Yes24 was caught off guard as an unprecedented 1.2 million unique users attempted to buy tickets for the SM Entertainment group’s second solo concert. This number is record breaking for a domestic concert in Korea, proving the power of EXO and its increasingly large fan base.
To minimize the impact on prospective buyers, Yes24 halted the sales of tickets and has announced new dates for ticket releases. Originally, tickets were to be sold on January 21st and 22nd. Now fans will be able to purchase tickets for the March 7th and 8th show on January 28th, 8:00PM KST and the March 14th and 15th show on January 29th, 8:00PM KST.
Yes24 will be working hard in the meantime to update their servers to better prepare for the upcoming ticket sales.
Meanwhile, this will be EXO’s second solo tour following their successful EXO from EXO Planet #1 through which they met over 320,000 fans in 17 cities all over Asia.
