Lee Byung Hun becomes first Korean actor to be invited to the Academy Awards (Oscars)
Korean actor Lee Byung Hun has been officially invited to the prestigious award ceremony, the Academy Awards also better known as the Oscars.
Lee Byung Hun becomes the first Korean actor to grace the Academy Awards‘ red carpet. On February 28th, Lee Byung Hun will be joining various top Hollywood actors at the 88th annual Academy Awards. While he will not be accepting any awards, the invitation to take to the red carpet alone is quite the honor.
His presence in Hollywood is undoubtedly rising since debuting in the industry in 2009 with his role in G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra as Storm Shadow. He has since return to that role in the sequel, G.I. Joe: Retaliation. Other Hollywood films he’s participated in include Red 2 and Terminator Genysis with films Misconduct and The Magnificent Seven to be released sometimes in 2016.
