A 17-Year-Old Girl Proposed Marriage To Red Velvet’s Seulgi, And Her Reaction Was Hilariously Blunt
Marrying your K-Pop bias is the dream of many fans. But because they can’t personally say it to the celebrities’ faces, they type out their feelings online.
In an episode of Showterview with Sunmi, the “Gashina” singer read out loud one such marriage proposal intended for Red Velvet‘s all-rounder Seulgi. The “28 Reasons” singer was the guest of the day, promoting her solo song and catching up with her close friend, Sunmi.
While reading the proposal, they learned that it was written by a young 17-year-old girl who is a big fan of the Red Velvet member! The high school student wrote that she had a “big plan” of meeting Seulgi in 3 years time and falling in love with her.
Afterwards, Sunmi asked Seulgi to react to the message.
‘How can I marry Seulgi? Hi, I’m a 17-year-old girl. Here’s my big plan. Once I turn 20, I’m going to come across Seulgi and fall in love with her. But I don’t know what to do after that. My heart is racing.’ While you’re here, why don’t you answer that?

Smiling, Seulgi admitted that she felt happy hearing such affectionate words and thanked the writer.
Well…first of all, I’m very fluttered. Thank you so much.

However, once Sunmi pointed out that it was a young girl proposing to her, she hilariously said that it would be difficult to accept her feeligngs!
- Sunmi: But the questioner is a 17-year-old girl…
- Seulgi: I think that’s a little hard. (Laughs)
Saying “Sorry! Sorry,” Seulgi apologized for “breaking” her heart.
Unfortunately for the fan, it was a one-sided love. She’ll have to mend her broken heart by listening to Seulgi’s new mini album, 28 Reasons, in the meantime!
