Here Are Your 2021 VMA Nominees For The “Best K-Pop” Category
It’s finally that time of the year again! On August 11, the MTV Video Music Awards revealed their 2021 nominees, and fans all around the world are excited to see who will take home the “Best K-Pop” trophy this year!
The competition will be extremely fierce, as every artist has their own unique charms in addition to high Billboard chart placements. Another interesting thing to note is that the list is evenly split between boy groups and girl groups.
First up we have BTS, who had many different hits for them to choose from! Out of all of MTV’s options, they ultimately settled on the song of pretty much everyone’s summer, “Butter”!
Next is BLACKPINK along with their good friend Selena Gomez, who were nominated for their collaboration “Ice Cream”, another worthy contender. Everyone loves to see girl bosses succeed, especially when they look so good while doing it!
MONSTA X was another group who saw good results this year in the American market, and the title track of their most recent album, “Gambler”, has put them in the running for the top spot!
One of the more recent songs on the list, TWICE‘s “Alcohol-Free” received a nod, likely due to its catchy tune and refreshing vibes! It may come as a surprise to some, but this is actually TWICE’s first ever VMA nomination!
SEVENTEEN is also ready to shine at the VMAs with their song “Ready to love”! Carats were excited to see the nomination come within a few hours of their music video hitting the 38 million view mark.
Finally there’s (G)I-DLE, who received a nod for their sassy bop “Dumdi Dumdi”! The song celebrated its first anniversary only two days ago, and their fans, Neverlands, were so happy that it got the recognition.
Fans can vote up to 20 times per day for your favorite artist on MTV’s official website, with the final results being announced live from the September 12, 2021 ceremony!
