2NE1’s Seoul Concert Venue Also Questioned After Ticket Prices Divide Opinions

Tickets for both nights of the Seoul leg are now sold-out.

As 2NE1 and “OG” K-Pop fans competed for their chance at YG Entertainment girl group’s concert tickets, questions were raised about the chosen venue being “a big mistake.”

In July 2024, YG Entertainment confirmed 2NE1’s return with a “concert to celebrate their 15th anniversary.”

YG Entertainment Confirms Upcoming 2NE1 Reunion

Fast forward to August 5, 2024 (KST), when the long-awaited tickets went on sale (and was almost immediately sold out), and the competition for a seat at Seoul’s Olympic Hall got fans complaining.

Those who tried their luck flocked to X (former Twitter) and shared their experiences of being behind 410K+ others in line.

The cap is at 6,000 for two nights of 2NE1’s concert. Know that there are 400K people in line to get tickets right now… Better host the concert at Sangam.

Whose idea was it to host 2NE1’s reunion concert at a venue that can hold a mere 3K audience? The group can fill the entire 88 Lawn Field with standing tickets, and it would still be sold out. What kind of bullsh*t is this?! YG Entertainment better host an encore concert at the end of the world tour at the Jamsil Stadium for three nights in a row.

Koreans online agreed that 2NE1 might have underestimated their own fandom to have booked such a small venue for such a historic comeback.

Some also pointed out that limiting the sales to four seats per person made it “basically impossible” to get any tickets at all.

  • “Not the Olympic Hall…”
  • “Even non-fans around me said they were going.”
  • “I was somewhere around the 300K in line.”
  • “Well, it must have been difficult for 2NE1 to guess how ticket sales would have gone. It’s not like the members were active. Maybe they really had no idea how people would respond.”
  • “Cancel all the tickets and open it again with a limit of one ticket per person! What the heck!”
  • “Listen… I’m not their fan, and I would love to go. They absolutely underestimated themselves. Haha.”
  • Unnies being WAY too humble… They should have booked the entire Honam Plains to make room for everyone.”
  • “Of course, everyone wants to go to this. Everyone who lived through that K-Pop era would want a ticket, LOL.”
  • “The tickets went on sale already?!”
  • “Olympic Hall is a big mistake already AND they let each person book four tickets?”
  • “I thought Interpark was working on not letting people double-book, but I guess that system is still fairly new and not working perfectly… My question is, whose idea was it to let 2NE1 hold their reunion concert at Olympic Hall and sell four seats per person?”

Of course, there is meaning to 2NE1 choosing Olympic Hall. Back in August 2011, 2NE1 held their first-ever concert, “NOLZA,” at the same venue. Member CL’s Instagram post caption makes this clear:
