2NE1’s Reunion With YG Entertainment Sparks Skepticism In Fans
On July 21, KST, Yang Hyun Suk of YG Entertainment (YGE hereon) announced the 2NE1 will officially reunite for their 15th anniversary and hold a concert tour.
2NE1, the second-generation girl group from YGE, was an icon in its own right. All four members made distinctive marks on the industry in the seven years of their activity. Despite delivering one hit after another, the group had to discontinue in 2017. Many fans still feel that the members had to part ways due to YGE’s negligence.
If there is anyone to blame for 2NE1’s unfair disbandment, that will always be YG Entertainment. The truth is they abandoned 2NE1 and they failed to protect them when they were falling apart. It’s never the members fault that they were treated unfairly.

Now that 2NE1 is reuniting under the wing of YGE again, many can’t keep their skepticism at bay while simultaneously celebrating the news. To some, this move seemed like a quick cash grab on the company’s part, while others felt that YGE had missed its chance to treat 2NE1 better.
