AB Entertainment’s CEO, the legendary producer Shinsadong Tiger, continued to work with the group after this, including on the group’s popular song “Up & Down.” In 2020, the producer, in collaboration with Universal Music Group, announced he would debut a new girl group the following year.

On February 17, 2021, TRI.BE made their debut as a seven-membered group.

Over the years, the group remained active; however, Shinsadong Tiger passed away in February 2024, just days after the group’s most recent musical release.

Since then, TRI.BE have not comeback, leading some to wonder what was going on with the group. An unexpected update was given on March 18, with media reporting that TR Entertainment had gone bankrupt.

Reports state that on March 13, the 16th Bankruptcy Division of the Seoul Bankruptcy Court declared a simplified bankruptcy for TR Entertainment. Simplified bankruptcy applies when a debtor’s assets amount to 500 million KRW or less at the time of the declaration.

The reason for filing for bankruptcy was reported to be financial difficulties, as the company saw a decline in revenue and suspended transactions with investors following the passing of Shinsadong Tiger.

With this news, some have expressed concerns for TRI.BE, as well as the other artists under TR Entertainment (EXID‘s LE and singer U Sung Eun).

There have been no officially announcements on what will happen to the artists under TR Entertainment as of writing.
