4th Gen Idol Goes Viral After Flirting With Fan Massively Backfires
One of the best parts of being a fan of K-Pop groups is the interactions between fans and idols. These happen in several different ways, but one of the more recent and widely sought-after ways is video calls or video fan signs.
Like their IRL counterparts, fans can chat with idols one-on-one but with more privacy as no other fans are physically present.
Some idols, like THE BOYZ’s Sunwoo, have gained attention for their flirting during these events, and fans have some sort of response when it is directed at them.

Recently, an idols attempts at flirting crashed and burned, resulting in him going viral.
In 2020, boy group The KingDom (previously known as KINGDOM) debuted with a royalty concept that followed through their comebacks until their most recent.
On December 29, a fan shared her video call with the group’s leader Dann, which featured the caption “POV: When You Don’t Handle Fanservice Well.” In the clip, the fan shows Dann what appears to be some embroidery she did herself to match him, with each expressing disappointment she did not have it done in time to wear to the group’s tour.
Dann then says that “they’re like Spidey-couple,” to which she replies “whatever that means.” The idol seems a bit surprised by her response, pausing before continuing the conversation.
The TikTok posted of this clip has since hit nearly a million views on TikTok, with a reposting on X having just over 500 thousand.

Many shared their reactions to the clip, remarking that Dann did not know how to handle a “normal” fan, referencing the many fan calls that go viral for the wrong reasons.
Fans of The KingDom discussed other moments with Dann, showing that the idol is what some call a flirty “loser /[affectionate],” and that this is not an atypical response from the fan.
