4th Generation Idol Shares Now-Deleted Photo Of Condoms
THE BOYZ‘s Eric recently explained why he accidentally shared a photo of condoms.
November 11 is celebrated as Pepero Day in Korea because the numbers look like sticks of the popular snack. Eric has shared a handwritten message for fans and the treat each year.
This year was no different, with Eric sharing photos on THE BOYZ’s official X account featuring a close-up of his letters and a larger image containing what appeared to be a box of the snack dedicated to fans.
Upon closer examination, however, netizens realized that the box in the photo was not of Pepero but rather a specially created box of condoms. The product, a collaboration between the brand Barunsaenggak and GS25, was intended to make the gifting and purchase of contraceptives much easier and relieve some of the possible embarrassment some feel when buying.
However, the packaging worked too well, as Eric explained shortly after.
Eric: Happy birthday on 11/9 and 10! And happy birthday and happy Pepero Day on 11/11 ❤️
Eric: And… to be honest, I’m so embarrassed right now that I’m thinking abut hiding in the corner for a week.
Eric: After work today, I went to a convenience store near my place. Outside, there was a display of “Pepero” snacks, and I picked from there… but I didn’t know. I didn’t know what they were for or why they were there… 😔😘
Eric: There were many “Pepero” snacks, but that one had “Dear.” written on it. Since “Dear” is also a fan song for THE BOYZ, I thought of you all. And then I thought, “If I write TheB (THE BOYZ’s fan name) next to it, it would be perfect~!” So I picked that one… I’m sorry for shocking you.
Eric: You know how I feel, right? I hope you all liked the letter! 😊❤️
Eric: Alright, that’s all. I’m going back to my room to rest now.
Eric reshared his letters, and was comforted by netizens who shared they would likely make the same mistake.
