Is It Woo Young Woo vs. Moon Dong Eun? Koreans Divided Over Who’ll Win The 2023 Baeksang Arts Awards
While a date has not been set, Koreans expect the 59th Baeksang Arts Awards to be held sometime in the first half of 2023. Celebrating the works released after April 1, 2022, the prestigious awards show will recognize K-Movies and K-Dramas that gave viewers laughter and tears.
And though nominations have not been unveiled, some of 2022-2023’s hottest K-Dramas are being discussed across online communities as “deserving to win the grand prize.”
In particular, Koreans are fierce in a debate over which actress will take home the “Best Actress” award from the television category. Big names like Little Women‘s Kim Go Eun and Crash Course In Romance‘s Jeon Do Yeon are being brought up…
…though most believe it will be a battle between Extraordinary Attorney Woo‘s Park Eun Bin vs. The Glory‘s Song Hye Kyo.
Hundreds of viewers clashed in the comments over which actress should win!
Some believed Park Eun Bin’s performance as an attorney on the spectrum was “a nationwide phenomenon” worth the “Best Actress” title…
- “Oh, I forgot about Park Eun Bin. Darn, 2023’s Best Actress is going to be competitive.”
- “Park Eun Bin’s role was more complicated, so I think she deserves the win. I think Park Eun Bin would’ve been able to take on Moon Dong Eun’s role, but I don’t think Song Hye Kyo would’ve been able to take on Woo Young Woo’s role.”
