5th-Generation Boy Group Member Makes “Rookie” Mistake During Fansign

It was the group’s first fansign event.

Events like fansigns, where idols get the opportunity to interact with their supporters face-to-face, are very important in a fandom-centric industry like K-Pop, as the way they conduct themselves during such interactions often becomes the make or break of a group’s public image. Fansigns are pretty straightforward in concept: fans line up and get to meet all the members of a group, receive their autographs, and have a brief conversation with them. While most K-Pop idols go viral for being charming or flirty toward fans during these events, a male idol recently drew attention for his hilarious error.

On April 5, the new boy group under Cube Entertainment, NOWADAYS, held their first-ever in-person fansign event. As usual, fans took to social media to share their experience meeting the members, but one fan’s account stood out.

Posting a picture of the album that they got signed by the group’s member Siyun, the OP (original poster) pointed out that while signing, the idol wrote his own name, “To Siyun,” on the album, practically dedicating his autograph to himself.

In their caption, the OP also mentioned that they never caught this mistake when they saw him sign, going into a laughing fit as they remembered the moment.

Fans were obviously both endured and left in splits by this funny mistake. Someone even pointed out that this small error has made the OP’s album a rare item that will only become more valuable as the group grows.

A really cute mistake, LOL.

LOL Siyun. Even his clumsiness has a charm.

LOL. I’m freaking jealous. This is a rare item you can get only during the rookie era.
