69-Year Old Thai Man Goes Viral For 14th (And Hopefully Last) Wedding On Valentine’s Day
A 69-year old man from Thailand has not lost hope in romacne!
Sanan Kongsoon and his 56-year old fiancée, Somnuek Saengkaew, tied the knot on February 14 in a mass wedding. Apart from them, 10 other couples from Krabi, South Thailand, signed their marriage certificates in a Valentine’s Day event held by the Mueang Krabi District Office.
It was a traditional Thai wedding that included a crowd of family and friends who saw the grooms being paraded towards their brides.
Each couple was then taken to kayak boats where they rowed to the middle of the Klonh Root (Clear Water Canal), signing their marriage certificates with the stunning view of nature surrounding them.
Sanan and Somnuek in particular gained local attention for their strong bond. This marked the 69-year old’s 14th wedding. Sanan revealed to Amarin TV that he had previously signed marriage certificates with 13 other women, all relationships of which failed over time for unstated reasons.
Contrary to what some netizens may assume, he and his now-wife have been a couple for over a decade. It is only now, however, that he decided to publicly affirm his love. Not only was the event held on Valentine’s Day, but it also coincided with his birthday. He deemed it a sign that it was the perfect time to formalize their union.
Thai netizens flooded the comments section of the original Facebook post with words of congratulations for the couple. Some even asked Sanan to share dating tips based on his experience of having 14 wives in total!
