97-Liner Seemingly Confirms His Enlistment Will Happen In 2025, Earlier Than Anticipated
For many male K-Pop idols, enlistment will happen at one point in their career. Though it can happen at any point, most idols will delay their enlistment as late as possible before beginning their service to complete as much work as possible.
However, recently, a member of the 97-liners friend group hinted at making an enlistment earlier than expected.
The ’97-liners are a group of male K-Pop idols born in 1997 and are friends. The group includes BTS‘s Jungkook, ASTRO‘s Cha Eunwoo, GOT7‘s Yugyeom and BamBam, SEVENTEEN‘s Mingyu, and NCT‘s Jaehyun.
Members Jungkook and Jaehyun have already begun their enlistments, with both idols going before their ages would have necessarily required in most circumstances.
A recent interview with GOT7’s Yugyeom has seemingly confirmed his enlistment will happen in 2025.
Yugyeom was recently interviewed by Ginza Magazine, where he talked about many subjects, including GOT7’s upcoming comeback.
Another question about his plans asked the idol what kind of year he wanted 2025 to be. Yugyeom responded that since he was about to enlist, he wanted to meet many fans and share as much music as possible.

As a 97-liner, Yugyeom’s enlistment was not anticipated to happen until 2026. An early enlistment also seems likely for many fans, as GOT7’s Youngjae will begin his this year as well.

Meanwhile, Yugyeom has already announced and began his Trusty tour, which has seemingly been extended into 2025.
